At the 04:45 the turbine brand " Ansaldo " , the Ansaldo is biggest engineering company in Italy. They made turbines, electricity and big machines. Also made tanks in ww2 era.

A little info for you on this trip and future explorations. The "cool old vacuum" you found is an asbestos abatement vacuum. You can tell from the secondary hepa filtration on the top. I would not advise even touching one, let alone opening it.
@devnull_-us4of

Nah, it's just a regular dual motor industrial vacuum, older ones had an exhaust connector mostly for use as a blower.

The word you where looking for was condenser. It’s under the turbine to turn steam back to water to go back to the boiler. And start the cycle over again.
@MrTech1210
@MrTech1210 4 жыл бұрын
The turbines may be different as they could be running in different stages, i.e. first turbine is high pressure steam, then intermediate pressure, then down to a low pressure turbine. This way, the steam could be fully utilised before condensing back to water. Just a thought.

You'd better use a mask in places like that. Here in Italy in old constructions we were used to build with asbestos, that's why the warning "a" label you can see anywhere...

They use sometimes old power converters of abandoned plants for smaller villages and stuff. I remember that some of the abandoned nuclear plants in the US still power up big parts of city districts, but its basically only the power converter which can be used as standalone part.

Roy BM As far as I’m aware ansaldo was an engineering giant that once made power controls, turbines/generators and motors though various sub companies. Many of which have been sold off, I know hitachi took the rail from them, Nidec have the motors some of which was once sold through Siemens. I also work on motors/generators that were manufactured by GE, Siemens and the like. Brown boveri was bought by asea which is today’s ABB. I must say my most favourite old machines have to be Lancashire Dynamo and Crypto. They have such character and the amount of machines that are still running today is a true testament to their quality.

A was about to write that you should have spike-protected shoes, gloves and some kneepads. Since the knee is often easy to put down to the ground instead of falling. And a rusty nail into the knee is no fun. Then you start walking on floors falling under your feet. Wtf 😂 Maybe one of those inflatable orbs would be something? If you fall to ground level youll bounce right back up again 👍😂 Your videos are great by the way 🙂 but pls consider som safety gear 😊

those aren't power plants, they are Windcentrals, they are wind turbines too generate the massive amounts of air needed for the furnace. After the windturbines you have a coal/gas heater to superheat the are so you have a better and denser air pocket to put into the furnace. Great video but get your fact's straight
