This will be the last video of the Fukushima series. we go inside some abandoned stores with everything left behind including valuables. we then visit a highly contaminated car graveyard full of radiation as well. many of the places you see are never before seen and never been documented.

hi!! just wanted to clarify for the school! the reason why all the bags are on the desk is so that the owners can come pick it up but as we can clearly see, no kid ever came back. as for the photo on the board, it's a picture of after the disaster. so basically, after the disaster, some cleaners came to clean and put the kids' stuff to be easier to pick up. also, it's not a med school, most likely a primary or secondary school (coming from a nerd that's too interested in japanese schools, thank you)

Your rad counters are in micro sieverts per hour. You’re ok. The circular layout of the bottoms in the mock control room was for each fuel rod in the reactor. The auxiliary cooling system (RCIS) was literally the savior of this accident. It kept the fuel rods cool for a lot longer than we expected.

The highest their meter got was over 10 per hour. What is considered a dangerous amount for an hour? I know they were at lower levels but spending 8 days out there seems kinda risky is it not? Plus that is just what is measured in the air right? None of that is considering any dust or particles they inhaled along the way. I don't really know what im talking about and you seem to know so im picking your brain lol.
@Mcs1v
@Mcs1v 13 күн бұрын
@@krufty47 a full body ct scan is around 10mSv. Their rad counters are in μSv (which is 1000 times less), so a ct scan is around 10000 μSv. If we average out the reading, it was around 5-6μSv, so for the same amount of radiation which is equivalent with the ct scan you need to spent around 2 months in that place (if you spending times in safe areas, but there are always hotspots and heavily contaminated areas and its hard to compare a short term huge dose with a long term low one). The main problem with spending time in contaminated areas is the dust which is deposited in the lungs
@GoobNoob
@GoobNoob 4 күн бұрын
@@krufty47 50-100 is considered borderline some effects, but at that 2-10 range literally nothing will happen, especially only being exposed to it for some hours that week they were visiting.

I lived in Japan when this happed and the just the first minute has given me chills. I have watched very few of the videos as I saw first hand death and destruction that day. When that reactor popped on live tv, it changed the lives of so many folks. My youngest son’s elementary school was declared a hotspot and had a massive cleanup done to it. For me at work, I was given regular Geiger counter scans for around 5 months.

I can sense hesitancy from the crew and looking to Josh as he’s directing this content creation. And my stomach turned as Josh said he felt excited over the geiger counter going high. I mean seems Josh is more consumed with the high of the chase and finding good situations to make content out of than for his own safety and health over time, and because of this has no care for his crew, who chose to go, but I’m sure were told they would take the utmost precautions for safety. The haphazard masks, lack of gloves the whole time made my skin crawl for you guys. Radiation doesn’t show its damage right away but eventually people start to erode. These young men seem to think they have nothing to lose. As much as I enjoy content like this, I also enjoy when these projects employ strong attention to safety to everyone involved and ethics as well. I really wanted to like this but the whole message was tattered by your blatant disregard for the very thing that drove a whole town away leaving everything behind. Hope to see better in the future.
@haileymoon570
@haileymoon570 3 күн бұрын
I was thinking the same thing. I wasn't going to comment until i read yours. The way he's dismissing the radiation meter going off and his worried crew telling them "it's fine. It's high but it's fine." While touching everything without gloves or any kind of protection or even masks at points is shocking to me. And from a professional standpoint you'd hope that before visiting these places he'd give his crew a run down about the risks of radiation sickness, and whatever else they MAY get from going to whichever place it may be. It's important for you to be educated, and your responsibility to educate your team on the risks and possibilities that could occur EVEN if the chances are near zero. I personally wouldn't risk my teams health, and future. They're your team/friends. It's your responsibility to make sure that the proper safety gear is worn at the VERY LEAST

This is what? Your third/ fourth voyage into Fukushima? Stay safe guys! I ordered a Fullmetal Alchemist figure last year that was shipped from Japan and was wrapped in a page of newspaper. One of the pages actually covers Fukushima and clean up efforts. It's all in Japanese and I can't read a word of if it, but the diagram and pictures make it obvious. From what I can tell, I think it's a March 2023 publication. It's too neat to throw out.

Something that I've always admired from the japanese culture is their respect for things. I say this because I saw no vandalism, the clothes and furniture are intact and covered in dust. If this was somewhere else, I'm sure everything, radioactive or not, would have been gone by now. Kudos for Japan.
