I agree the running can be improved in a few cases. Some of that must be due to exhibition conditions - operators being distracted, dust on the track etc. I have operated trains at exhibitions myself and apart from running trains you are continuously talking to visitors. So sometimes you forget about slow operation. The answer to prototypical running isn't necessarily digital operation. There are excellent analogue controllers available, and the key is always the quality of the locomotive itself.

Ted Polet The few times I've seen your layout at exhibitions, you ran everything just fine with nice slow braking, so it can be done all in analog just fine. There are analog controllers that'll handle the inertia for you, so no need to go digital just for the inertia. It is just that even my kids drive realistically because I've set the max speed and the inertia. So with some cheap decoders and some settings I've made realistic driving the default behavior. (They haven't figured out yet that you can switch off the inertia by pressing "4" :-) ). In contrast, some of the layouts in the video looked like they just flipped a switch to remove the current from that rail section. Anyway, I didn't mean to be too negative. I'm very impressed by the way many of these layouts look. Fabulous! Reinout
