how come a is a point which is close to asymptote line , isnt the y-intercept??

2:12 does it have to be that point? can it also be (2,3)?

Theoretically you should be able to use any point. I believe if you follow the same approach using (2,3) at the point then you will end up with the equation y = 8 * 4^(x-2) - 5 Using graphing software we can see that both equations are identical to each other.

You made a mistake on the second graph, the HA is y=7 not y=6.

@@mrgrapefruit1757 No. The "a" value is not the y-intercept but the stretch factor(or shrink factor) of the exponential function. These two values cannot be confused.

The "h" value is not -1. The reason why is because the horizontal shift is 1. So the h value is actually 1.

Just find the closest exact point to the horizontal asymptote, and then find another one I suppose. If you have a graph just look at the points they don’t have to be labeled I don’t think
