Thanks for sharing this. I just went to upload my first spoonflower pattern and discovered my illustrator pattern did not want to cooperate with the repeat options available... It's so funny this is the tutorial I found because my pattern is really similar to yours, with the little repeating tulips. How funny. Blessings :)

Hello Ali, I hope you are doing well. I wanted to express my gratitude for your tutorial as it has been very easy to follow and incredibly helpful. I was wondering if I could ask you a question regarding canvas sizes for selling designs at different scales. Why it is necessary to create different canvas sizes for wallpaper and fabric? Would it be appropriate to create a single canvas of 24"x24" and export it once, and then upload that exported image to Spoonflower three or more times using names such as small, medium, and large scales etc, and adjust the scaling within Spoonflower instead of Illustrator? As a 24"x24" file exported at 150 DPI can be scaled up to 50"x50" approximately. I hope my question makes sense. I would greatly appreciate any insight you may have on this topic. Thank you!

@@izzatali Of course! And to answer your question, I think a 24" x 24" swatch for both fabric and wallpaper would be perfect.

Hi! CAN YOU GIVE AN EXAMPLE OF SMALL, MEDIUM AND LARGE SCALE? How do I know if my design is small, medium, or big? If I upload on Spoonflower a swatch that is 8'x8' at 150 dpi it is small or medium ? 8x8 at 300 dpi? 16x16 at 150 dpi ? A lot of designers named their files small, medium, and big! I hope my questions makes sense. Thank You!

Ah great question! And there is no prescriptive answer. Scale of S, M, L varies wildly between kids clothes and wallpaper, for instance. Usually a solid go-to for kids is 2" motifs at most. And wallpaper its much, much larger. In my opinion, just upload the best scale you think the design is suited for and let customers come to you and ask for a new scale. I don't think it is worth the time and effort up front to offer every design in 3 scales
