There's a reason behind the over priced landcruiser. His wife probably said he has to sell it and he did his part of putting it on market place not his fault no one will buy it. Smart move mate! He will be wheeling for another few years

Yeah, i feel like the older (pre 95 ish) 4wds won't be dropping too much in price, they've gotten to that classic car age and demand for them is increasing as most have now rusted away and they are the last of the simple, rugged and easily modifiable 4wds made. Also i had no idea you guys got 80s series Landcruisers in America, they must be pretty uncommon i assume.

Just purchased an old 2nd hand Nissan Navara ST-R ZD30 dual cab for work around the farm and head out back of the farm from time to time. I got it for just under 10k and is all original and with a complete service history and one owner and well looked after. Now I hope it is good and will keep the services up to it etc. As for the underside of it, no bashes etc only dirt etc from dirt roads and tracks. Engine, gear box and transfer case are all smooth. Anyway, keep up the great videos and stay upright out there.

11months ago I purchased a 2017 79series dual cab, lifted, dual batt bull bar side steps, 70,000km for $65k. Today’s market a similar vehicle are selling for $90-100k. It’s ridiculous market, it pushes insurance costs up. Good video guys! 👍

And with severe maintenance costs also. Almost all used 4WDs need an overhaul especially if they’ve been put through the ringer.

Do you know how many Prados, jeeps, pathfinders, and pajeros have never seen more than gravel roads? Just look for one not lifted, factory size tyres, no bull bar, and no rail damage.if you are looking for a cheap Landy, it's not happening. Just saw a 2009 repairable write-off go for $35,000 last week. Land cruisers are just too dear. Better options out there

7 months ago picked up a 2003 Landcruiser 1hz 105 series for $19,000. Came with a bullbar, snorkel, dual battery and uhf. The vehicle hadn’t done any 4wding, 240 thou kms, great condition. In the last few months I’ve put on full turbo kit, exhaust, 2“ superior lift, rear draws, 33’s. Pretty stoked with it. Also sold my Ln106 dual cab for 10k which I owned for 8 years and had 360 thousand kms on it.

Same here in the USA. With so-called chip shortage last year, used truck prices went through the roof. Ford trucks from the 80s & 90s with 4wd can still command upwards of $40,000+ here.

I bought my first 4wd this year. I had my heart set on a dmax and had $33k cash ready to go and the one I found had around 50 thousand kms and was like brand new. The salesman said with the shortage of new vehicles they no longer negotiate on used vehicles so I forked out an extra 5 grand. $38k for a 2014 dmax with 50k kms. More than I originally wanted to spend but got the exact Ute I wanted and I couldn’t be happier with it

12 months on prices are still crazy. I was looking at dmax, Colorado, tritons, patrols, land cruisers I ended up buying a 2013 vw amarok tdi400 with 210000km. Full service history, 6 speed manual with low range, 2” lift, aftermarket wheels, steel tray, 2nd fuel filter, tjm bullbar for 17k. The seller was originally asking 25k, dropped it down to 20k and I talked him down from there I’ve sorted out the main 2 issues being the timing belt and v drive belt, tensioner and pulley. It drives like a brand new one and I’ve sorted out some more suitable tyres for the camping trips I’ll be doing Can’t wait to get out there and explore now 👍

Bought an immaculate 2011 Disco 4 for 30k 2 years ago. 80,000km on the clock, single owner was an old lady. At 100,000km, it snapped a crank and bricked it, despite perfect servicing. Was cheaper to convert it to a TDV8 than buy another due to covid tax. Fyi... no Disco 4 comes with a TDV8. Love it!

A helpful hint for people looking for an awesome rig in the states, you can buy a hummer H3 for around 4-9k. Depending on the package, you can get one with front and rear lockers or just rear locker for the same price range. Usually pretty well maintained and will go about anywhere off-road. Best unpopular off-road rig ever.

Edit: XU1 torana’s were and still are legendary, my dad tells me stories if drag racing his mates and other fullas over St George bridge heading towards bollon. The cops would sometimes see him fly past and they couldnt care less cause they were sick of pulling him over🤣 aslong as you were over the bridge and not annoying anyone they werent bothered.

I bought a Nissan Navara D40 140KW 2011 with 180 000KM om the clock. Took delivery of the car beginning of December 2018, took it down to the cost for the December Holidays, Vehicle ran perfectly for the 2 weeks we spend at the cost. On our way back the engine seized up. leaving us 90km from the nearest town.I definitely learned some lessons with this buy! My next truck will be a Isuzu Dmax

However, the video clip of this family is the real story and it is a testament of the kind of people you are. Cheers mates...
