exposing how much protein I REALLY eat (what I eat in a day)
another day of eating nourishing, healthy food with no restrictions! I've heard that for optimal results, it's best to eat at LEAST 30g of protein per meal, so let's see if I accomplished that :)
as a reminder, a healthy lifestyle isn't always about weight loss, it's about feeling amazing & energized!

That sushi would need to contain 300g of raw salmon to be 60g protein…

I’m not well researched on this subject, but I agree that 60g seems like a lot compared to the amount of food. Would love some clarification from her on where she got these numbers, maybe I need to start eating more sushi!!🤣

She mentioned having 8 sushi rolls.. of that size!!! So it could be 60 gr protein, for that lenght× 8 rolls. Might be a lot to eat, but she said she did eat them.

Same with cottage cheese. I have a suspicion she counts total weight of protein containing food. Like 25 of cottage cheese, 60 g if salmon etc. Otherwise it makes zero sense

Three eggs is only 21 grams of protein and there’s no way that sushi has 60g what are you using to track this…?

You are also aware that bread has protein? And could easily get up to 35 grams. I have bread that’s 6g per slice. 2 slices with that amount of eggs would be 33g. And in the sushi, rice also has around 3g of protein per serving. And each roll is probably around half a serving of protein. She’s getting at least 12g just from the rice.

Also I just looked up the amount of protein in salmon, half of a raw fillet has 40g. People are plenty capable of counting their macros, so please do your research before commenting that there is no way she’s getting that much protein.

@@Hope-ps9xw You’re guesstimates are way off. Rice has 4.3 grams per CUP of rice. That’s NOT 3 cups of rice 😂. In order for half a salmon filet to have 40 grams of protein said salmon filet would have to be 14 ounces but okay. I agree people are capable of counting their macros, but unfortunately a lot of people GUESS instead of WEIGHING things.

@@tbug50 I may have been a little off on the rice, for 8 that size she’s probably getting around 2 servings of rice. But there looked to be plenty of salmon in those rolls. And guesstimating is fine, you don’t need to measure everything. It’s easy to eye things, once you’ve been cooking for awhile. That being said people do make mistakes. But her calculations seem fairly accurate, and when calculating most people are aware that the measurements aren’t going to be exact, due to impracticality. You have to take everything with a grain of salt, especially on the internet

To calculate the right amount of protein you need, times your body weight in pounds by 0.36. Therefore, 100 grams of protein is unnecessary for most people, unless you are working out to build muscle.

@@shawtywilkie9757 A balanced Protein diet is good for women but a overload of protein is bad causes all kinds of problems, metabolic,kidney,liver and many more.This girl in video is trying to make the point set what you want and work out but this is not good for most people.She is rich so she has organic meat, grass fed meat etc, the average person is eating 200 grams of hormone pumped bad low grade meat from Albertsons so nope not good

After 100g there's really no point eating more. I'm 67kg female and I wouldn't eat past 100g protein just because of cost and it has no impact if you eat beyond what you need

Protein takes more calories to break down and it’s the most satiating. Notice that most dieticians/and nutritionist add protein to balance all there meals.

Here’s a secret: your body doesn’t actually need anywhere near that much protein per day. People need a lot less than they think. Too much protein is actually really bad for your kidneys.

For example, the recommended amount of protein for supporting connective tissue restoration and muscle recovery for a person looking to build muscle is around 1 g per pound of bodyweight (more specifically .82 g). In general it's a good role of thumb and a useful goal to shoot for. Not getting enough when you're training can have consequences. Edit: clarity and updated value
