I've been a solo detailer full time for a few years now going on four and I do very high level work but everything takes me SO LONG and it's always been one car a day... all day. Thanks so much I need more content like this because I have no life with the hours I work.

Dude, it's not just you. I can squeeze a headlight restoration in on an evening after my regular job but there's NO way I could do a full detail in the evening. Maybe I should be pushing external-only during the week. I know usually hammer those out in a couple of hours unless there's paint correction involved.

Very informative. Those 3 products you use come highly recommended from other detailers and they're simple but effective. I have been trying to find what I want to start using and I am going to keep it simple with those 3. Also, you make a good point when you say you're not necessarily "detailing" you're just maintaining. Keep up the great work!

YES! I also do just what is required. no need to touch anything on a new well maintained expensive vehicle ...if you don't have to touch it, don't because touching it abrades the surface. clean it then protect it then only once in a while you'll need to wipe and clean again. my full detail inside and out takes exactly 1 hour on my clients with new cars. ..if it takes you longer.. you're cleaning things that don't need cleaning. wheels too.! I clean and coat them so I rarely have to use woolies and brushes.. maybe every third wash I'll go in with brushes. I simply pump spray wheel and tire cleaner on them all then power wash them off. done. fresh sealant and wax on the new paint so I only hand cash the bottom third of the car.. the top gets foamed and washed off..no scratches.. ever from driving and wiping. again...if you can clean anything without touching it or scrubbing... then don't. great video

Curious, do you wash and reuse microfiber towels or just throw them out and use new one after each use? Also my sister has a cleaning business I work w/ her. With regular clients we see often we do a light clean or a deep clean. Depends what's necessary. Like you said, it's a business, and you have to prioritize things. It's hard skipping stuff though because I'm very thorough. But yeah, a maintenance clean it's a great business model! I'd rather be cleaning cars than houses. Did a nasty toilet today 🤣

I’m a huge fan of the system x interior spray coating. I’m doing a long term test now. A year later it’s doing really well. Apart from that, certain coatings can be used off label, mckees graphene coating, Avalon king, then with leather I would go for a specific leather ceramic coating.

@GFXBUILDS
@GFXBUILDS Жыл бұрын
Run off water for car washes is illegal in very specific areas. When I did indoor luxury, I used rinseless washes(foam method) but you can look into water containment mats. I used an inflatable one(did not last that long).
@altillman1448
@altillman1448 Жыл бұрын
Rarely in our mobile detailing is there an actual STORM DRAIN nearby a homes driveway. When there is one all you have to do is use a cheap pliable pig berm to cause runoff water to pool up and insert a cheap electric bilge pump that when it senses its submerged in water will suck the runoff water up and out the discharge port hose that we have staked down and run into nearby grass. Do the same thing for power washing concrete.

Bad analogy, instead look at this this way. You go to the barber, get 2 inches cut off the top, and have them give you a fade. You go in a week later, and you pay the same price, only for them to freshen up the fade and not touch the top, why would they, when it has only grown 1/8th of an inch. Also with maintenance plans prices are lower to accommodate the easier job
