The album was a fit of rage dedicated to the Matty-situation because no matter how much hard work and tears she put into her career, she realised that despite her success she has no power. One false move and her fan base will tear her down. Must have been a heart wrenching realization. You live and die by the will of the people. Much like gladiators, you can win all your fights and kill all your opponents, but by the end you are still only a slave to their moods (and wallets).

I wanna know if you think her and Travis are PR… because I can see them being PR but I also think he makes her live life. It's interesting to compare Reputation with TTPD. Back then, she was so in love with Joe it was mostly all she could sing about. All the other exes (Harris, Hiddleston) faded into nothing. Now she drops 2 albums mostly bashing a short-lived relationship whilst adding 1 or 2 lukewarm songs about Travis. They might have a good telationship, but imo she's not THAT into him. Maybe it grows over time, let's see.

When I heard this album being released, I was like "okay, cool". I was not overly hyped about it. Especially because she announced it at the Grammy's, and I thought it was an inappropriate time due to it making the night about her and her new album. I thought about the album, but in passing. Then, my grandpa had passed away unexpected, and the album literally came out well the 2am version did. I remember listening to a couple of songs to drown out my sadness. Believe it or not, I am a Swiftie. Not the kind that can never see the faults that she has, because I for sure do see those faults. I make mistakes too. Because we are all humans just like Taylor is human, shocking I know. I thought that Joe Alwyn was a great guy (although I didn't know who he was). Especially now, I think he is one of the best exes. He has kept quiet, and truly wants his privacy. Just because you are in a public relationship, does NOT mean you need to share every second of your lives together. Making this album essentially with Matty Healy in mind really shocked me. I don't know who it is, but I know him from his situationship with Taylor for the last decade as well as the horrible raciest. BUT it makes sense considering that they got linked up at 2014. knowing THAT fact broke my heart for Joe; because while she is with him for six years, she is pining after another man. Maybe just maybe Joe did not want to get married to Taylor; because he knew of her unrequired love for Matty. To think, the whole time that others as well as myself thought this album was going to be about Joe and their downfall of their relationship as well as the aesthetics being that of Joe's. IE: the typewriter more specifically. and maybe a couple of songs of both Matty as well as Travis THEN come to find out, a good majority of the album was about Matty Healy (gross). I hope that Joe can heal through this, and we as Swifties not tear him down but lift him up. all and all. the album is good, but it is not the TOP album of her's. (in my mind). ❤

About Joe. I'm not surprised that she didn't made the album all about him. Don't forget that at least her 3 précédents albums are all about Joe. (lovers, folklore, Reputation, Midnight...) TTPD is about the end with Joe. BUT the few about him are the most heartbreaking. The fact that it is mainly about Matty makes sense because the story with him was longer than what we saw. In all honesty, I like how absurd the album is. It feels like we are reading a raw transcript from her diaries over the years, with all the good and bad, the cringe and the profound thoughts, that's why I like it. It inspires me to write stories as well. I always learn the references while watching your videos and the ones from a swiftie that I like, to get more context, so the first time I listen to the songs I enjoy them for what they are. It's a fun and interesting experience to discover more and more about her character with each album release. And, although I liked this new album (the anthology version), I still believe Folklore and Evermore are her top-tier, best creations and I don't think she will surpass them, at least not so soon. Midnights has also grown on me over time. I would love a video on the psychology of Taylor! Please. I admire her as an artist and businesswoman, but I do think she lives craving life to create art, instead of actually living and creating art (not sure if that made sense?). I don't agree with everything with Taylor, but speaking from experience, you can only go so long with someone who has depression, who won't give you any love back. I tried, myself, for 3 years, but he wouldn't talk to me at all and shut me out. Not a huge Taylor fan, but you can't live forever like that if they won't help themselves.

This was mostly written two years earlier, and so Travis was a late addition with the Alchemy and So High School tracks. Folklore. Evermore and Midnights were Joe-infused. Being with a man who is always blue is exhausting and overwhelming. It takes over your entire life trying to oust fires and grow roses. I swear I have done this. It engulfs your world. Matty probably felt exciting and like a whole rescue, but he told her everything she wanted to be told. When it came to it, he ran off like a little druggie boy and ghosted. Typical rebound guy behaviour and she is somewhat pissed she fell for it and him. Kicking herself throughout and is very honest about her humanity. She is very much likening the emotions to insanity, but she is not insane or unhinged. If you write down your thoughts and feelings, they reduce and become manageable, a coping mechanism therapists promote worldwide. I adore this album. Kim's song is the only one I am not into because I am over it, and I already dislike the woman. She doesn't deserve a song from Taylor. But it's done, and I hope we never have to revisit that narrative..... like ever!

I feel like a lot of the reason why Marty Healy is in this album so much and the overall how this is quite an unhinged album is you first have to take a lot of things into account. First, shortly after the release of the album, Taylor on her socials comments how the albums songs were written over the course of 2 years. That is well in the time frame that Taylor and Matty were together. At the time, Taylor believes she can make Matty Healy a better person, hence the song ‘I can fix him (no really I can)’ which ends with ‘whoa maybe I can’t’. I think the title track is also regarding Matty as she says ‘Who gonna hold you like me?’ as if she is saying that who is gonna understand you like me. Due to the huge backlash she got from the media and fans regarding being with Matty, they split up, and she feels the whole world is against her, hence ‘But Daddy I love Him’ and ‘Down Bad’, basically saying to her fans and the media that she loves Matty and the father figure in Daddy I love him is the media and her fans which she was outraged by. And then we get to the comments Matty makes about Taylor, basically saying that being with Taylor kind of gave him a good image, and now Taylor feels like she was being used by Matty. And now Taylor hates Matty for making her feel fake love, hence ‘The Smallest Man who ever lived’, basically a massive question and fuck you to Matty Healy, like why did he do it, what was he thinking etc. TTPD is kind of like a little journey that she takes us on with the brief relationship with Matty, how she used to live him, was mad at everyone cuz they did not let them be together, then realising she dodged a bullet because he was using her. Second, the reason why it somewhat feels like a love letter to Matty is cuz these songs, again, were written over the course of 2 years, and one of the things she did say about this album was that it had all the songs about how she felt over those 2 years, and because the songs did not really fit into other albums, she makes one album, TTPD, arguably her most unhinged album. She was just getting the songs out there, though she does not agree with a lot of the songs feelings like ‘But Daddy I love him’ where she doesn’t feel the same about Matty. Also about Travis, I also found it weird that there only seems to be one song about him, but you could argue cuz the relationship is fairly new, it might take her some time to write them. Also yes, Kim dis track, seems like she should be over it, but Kim did make her feel like absolute shit that forced her to change her personality from a loveable pop girl to the snake everyone was calling her. Also, Famous is just a disgusting song, I get Taylor has some questionable lines, but she doesn’t outright say she might have sex with a particular person. It is always implied, like the Kim dis track, which is honestly hilarious. She is allowed to be mad, there is literally a deepfake nude person who looks like her in video. Kanye is sick in the head and he needs to understand that sometimes people don’t give a fuck about his opinion. So basically this was not a modern love letter to Matty Healy, these are all the songs which fall under the TTPD umbrella. She definitely does not love Matty Healy anymore because she was just a tool to him to make him a bigger artist. She might not feel the way the songs depict her anymore, but she did feel that way at some point. Though it is unhinged, TTPD is quite high on my list of best albums ever. I would like to remind everyone that Billie Eillish and Finnies debuted their song TV on June 7, 2022 which include the lyrics: "And I don't get along with anyone Maybe I'm the problem Maybe I'm the problem// Maybe I, maybe I, maybe I'm the problem Baby, I, baby, I, baby, I'm the problem." Anti-Hero was released on October 21, 2022... and yes, it is a catchy song. I'll admit that but I didn't FEEL anything when listening to it even though some could say both songs carry a (somewhat) similar message. Now who knows when either song was written but the fact remains that Billie publicly sang "I'm the problem" months before Swift did yet the adage is ALWAYS accredited to her and her only... it's as if it has been erased from Billie/Finneas' long list of beautiful/meaningful lyrics. In my opinion, "I'm the problem" is one of their best because in the context of the song, it's a haunting moment of sudden self-realization and acknowledgement of her own behavior and how she's been treating people because SHE is hurting... yet it shows growth by her own acceptance of this notion of herself and can admit it. Its raw and can be a very shameful moment/feeling that most of us will actually experience at least once in our lives. I constantly hear people sing and reference that particular lyric in Anti-Hero as "so relatable" and it pisses me off a bit because imagine if the roles were reversed... Well, I guess we don't really have to given the whole Olivia Rodrigo situation. Now she's literally all but plagiarized one of OR's songs on TTPD. Anyway, there is a video online with Billie on stage and they are preparing to perform TV and Finneas is caught on a hot mic quietly (but very clearly) saying: "We're getting sued by Taylor Swift tonight." It's funny and he's totally joking (I think) but also I think it's quite telling... How do people in the industry, her peers and her competitors, REALLY view her? Billie/Finneas sang that lyric publicly months before TS, yet the first thing that comes to his mind when playing that song is: Taylor Swift and SUE.

Agree she basically was going to be successful no matter what. I like the new album but the criticism she receives is warranted.
