After just finishing Dread I have to say that I keep coming back to AM2R for the music. Dread is wonderful, but AM2R has such incredible music I have to replay it again and again.

Yeah, I'm playing Dread and haven't listened to any catchy song yet... All Metroid games have great songs, even this fan made, but since Other M there hasn't been any. What a shame.

This song is actually genius. The same way that Tallon Overworld took the original Brinstar theme and used its basics for a new song, Hydro Station takes Green Brinstar and uses its basics for something new.

Funny how AM2R was overall, the better game compared to it’s official step-brother. At least, with the official remake, it laid the building blocks for metroid dread, and even teased it with all of the chozo lore

Looking through remixes of Upper Brinstar for a cover I was working, I searched tirelessly for this song thinking it was from the Prime series, only to download AM2R one day out of boredom and 30 minutes in; lo and behold, the holy grail.

You know what I LOOVE about this soundtrack? It does what Metroid does best. Tell an engaging story without actually telling it. All you need is the basic premise and the music does the rest. Samus' personal investment in her mission, the determination and self belief in the face of impossible odds, it's all here in music form ❤️

Doing a replay of the 2D Metroids starting from Metroid Zero Mission, then AM2R (sorry 3DS Samus Returns, this is better remake), then Super Metroid, and then Metroid Fusion. These games are so awesome and never get old.

i'd love to mention this is a remix of Upper Brinstar from Super Metroid (The green area) In some ways! Like what Prime 2 did to Lower Brinstar with the Subterranean Torvus Bog.

Such a great remake. I have played through all the Metroid's before going into Metroid Dread and this remake fit perfectly into the series as number two. From the controls being easy to get used to coming from Zero Mission, the ending cave looking exactly like the one in the Super Metroid intro recap to the art of SR388 and the frog easter egg fitting perfectly with Fusion.

Thos remake was so good. I definitely prefer the 2d metroid games over 3d. Haven't played prime or prime 2 but prime 3 was great. And of course I happened to play other m as well. That might have tainted 3d metroid for me but fusion, zero mission, and am2r are absolute bangers for me. (Never really got into super metroid sadly tho)

I honestly consider AM2R superior to Samus Returns. Its hilarious that a fan made a better game than Nintendo did...imo at least.

@@WaveForceful Played both and I gotta agree. Although much of my opinion is it being on PC which is kind of unfair since PC gives you more options for custom controller set ups. That being said... You can't play AM2R on the go like you can with samus returns on 3ds soo... Kind of hard to compare the two. Especially since they are both good games. But yeah... I lean more towards AM2R. It's sooo good lol. Felt the game play was more challenging too. Might just be the best metroid yet. It's up there with prime 1 and super. And I also agree that it's hilarious how a FAN game can be better than the real deal lol. It happens though. Some times a average joe under dog gives the elites a uppercut out of nowhere and the world just has to stop and go... Holy shit that happened lol.
