Extended clip of Scrabble's Sang

For completeness sake, I have uploaded my copy of Sang's hilarious Scrabble Sprint. I only have this clip, and while it's in horrible quality, it is a lot longer than what others have previously posted. Now it will be widely known that both Sang's main game opponent and Sprint opponent had a lot of loose change up there as well.

Funny thing is, if Sang had won, they would have had to re-do the entire round because Chuck gave away a hint on the alternate.

Of course, letting it go only costs five seconds, while guessing wrong on the final letter is a ten second penalty.

I could've sworn there was an episode where someone went past 99.9 seconds and the clock reset itself. Does anybody have that clip?

Yeah. Kind of a bad relflex. He wanted to pick letters but he buzzed in at the same time. "Bad habit" he says. Yeah. "10 second bad habit" replies Chuck. Lol.

meaning? (The champion's last name wasn't Nadeth by any chance was it?) (I assume some of you know why I am asking, if not all of you, for those of yoyu who do NOT I will tell you. He was the guy who ended up winning the "Scrabble Tournament of Champions" in 1985.) (If that is him, I have only one thing to say, are you fricking kidding me? (he had the best time in the scrabble sprint during the tournament, (13.0 with FOUR words.)

I wonder if there is a full episode of “Scrabble” where Sang was a contestant with stupid clues in the Scrabble Sprint round. This episode do exists somewhere, and my guess is, someone would contact Wink Martindale to see the full episode on his channel in the future and it’s going to be from a studio master tape which is a great idea to see the full uncut episode.

Thank you SOOOOOO much for upping this clip!!! I've wanted to see Sang's entire Sprint Round for years now! Personally, I think this clip does even more justice than the previous one. Thanks again Chris!

i agree, because i used to watch these 2 shows everyday & enjoy Jim & Chuck entertain my family back in the 80's on NBC & the 90's on USA we miss you both very much

Wonder if this was during Teen Week? I think I can see the logo for such special event on top of Sang's head at 1:08.

You mean the wall from the Sprint round? It was pink, not yellow. And I personally think Fremantle is being fair not letting Scrabble or Sale of the Century air on TV again. NBC should buy the rights to both of them and air them online.

For Scrabble, Hasbro actually has a bit of a say, seeing how they own the brand now. $otC is now on BUZZR at least. And if NBC bought the rights, it would never air, and all of these clips would be gone.

This would have aired in March or April 1985, as there's no spelling format, 2-2 ties are broken in the maingame with Speedword, each player plays the same words in the Sprint, and Pink and Blue squares are not worth bonus money during Speed Word as they were starting when the Spelling format was retired on 9/2/85

SOmetimes a technical problem would cause them not to show a crossword round word being played on camera, which would also result in the board getting cleared after the fifth crossword word. This is the only time can recall it taking two words like that to determine a winner.
