@@verifieddoughty3588 no he plays for Burnley and in my opinion is doing very well. Problem is he fell off quite a bit after the Guardiola era began bc Pep didnt like him. Also the rise of Pickford and Butt and Pope as young lads meant the eventual changing of the English guard

Don't know exactly for sure but it's probably to do more with their physicality during development. Pickford in particular is very bottom heavy, he has a lot of leg power and a nice strong back is part of a good squat technique. He probably just worked/works on his legs a lot. Other keepers may work on their core which involves a lot more movement of the spine so probably don't have their backs naturally straight on their set position. Margetson does like them to hold the ball before moving their hands though (make the save, hold the ball in position, then move the hands down) so may have something to do with rigid set positions too. I personally like how Pickford sets. I think it also helps both him and Butland to go at 100mph. They seem quicker than McCarthy and Betts, especially getting back into their set from the ground

Gabriel Heidler You make a very good point about leg strength. A lot easier to remain upright if you have strong legs. From personal experience I play in a lot more of a crouched position because my legs fatigue quickly if I try and stay as upright as they do. I still find it amazing how agile these lads are considering they are massive units. Also interesting to see feet speed differences between the guys. Butland has very quick feet movement s constantly dancing around vs Bettinelli who’s foot movement seems a lot calmer.

@@DiveshRSA yeah he seems so much calmer. He's like Gunn when he was in these videos. I'm the same with my legs tiring out. Try to keep telling myself to stay on the balls of my feet but find myself so flat footed at times.

Also in Spain all the goal keepers are very low to the ground in their set position and they we focus on punching the ball rather than catching it
