When I learned how to use cube properly, it opened up so many doors. Pre-cube I would grind for item sets. But actually searching for the ingredients to make my own set of blood gloves with unique stats was sooooo rewarding and exciting. I was able to make my own crushing blow lifesteal gloves that had nice extra stats and I was getting ridiculous trade offers for those gloves. The fact that they were so unique made me feel like they were MINE, and that was a really cool feeling for an mmorpg where unique sets aren't really unique, but the horodric cube gear is truly one of a kind.

I remember watching my father play Diablo 2 when I was a kid. Together we figured much out, without using any tutorials or outside help. This remembered me of it. Thank you.

I knew a handful of things about basic crafting. But the best use I found for the cube was as an extension to my inventory.

Only now I wanted to search the first time how Horadric Cube actually works when I've played the game like 15 years, LOL! And I've no idea how to memorize all the runes and transmutes. This video doesn't seem to explain if there is specific rule for memorizing all of this, other than maybe creating the stronger rune or potion by transmuting three of the same. Would like to get some tips for that.

Question: To get the rune Amn it says you need 3x Thul + 1 Chipped Topaz. When I put this in the cube nothing happens. I'm at 1.13, Single Player. Is it maybe so that you also need to be the right level to be able to do this?

Good info. I'm still confused how you tell the initial grade of an item. For instance the first example you give in the tutorial (the gloves) I take it is Unique because it has a sort of bronze colour text. but how do you know if it is normal, exceptional or elite to begin with?

did you say you can socket superior items?? i found a superior ettin axe and did the socket recipe on it and got 5 sockets and i used it for a runeword and it worked just fine

good info , as I've recently tried to craft a weapon and armor that didn't work , little advise out there as to why or if it no longer applies with v1.14d ? he doesn't give a good reason for saying he would only upgrade a slow eth bonesnap ? he doesn't cross examine himself by offering some reason for not doing that with better weapons. he speed trips over his information assuming more information is known by his audience. giving a know time frame of usefulness can be more insightful .

Hi One of the greatest videos i have ever see. I am playing diablo 2 with expansion set hell level while i am trying to use the cube's recipe doesn t work, for example I am trying to upgrade to exceptional or to elite my unique-Rare Items (Demon Limb Tyrant Club-Havoc Coat Armor) and nothing happens. The same for socketing the above items. Any ideas???

I remember back then I didn't know english, internet wasn't common and I had a copied version of Diablo 2. I only used Horadric cube for make from 3 gems 1 better quality gem. When I heard that one can create a portal to cow level with the cube I was like: Damn! Such a creative use of the cube. It isn't only to create better gems... :D It was such a hard time without all the recipies... But it was a great time still.

But that only works in ladder right? coz there're some recipes that you cannot do in Single player. or am i wrong?
