I've done it before. My first experience on the west coast riding, and in backcountry. I did set off a mini slide. There were tree wells everywhere, except I didn't really know what a tree well was a the time. This just prompted me to read an article,and something came up about how it is actually safer to be "Alone" per say...and that groups of 3 or more were more likely to get cought in an avy than groups of 2 or less. It makes sense. I think the key is to ride with at least one person, and if you are alone,let people know where you are and have a beacon. I didn't have any of those. It was really sketchy,and I shouldn't have been out there alone.. but I'm really glad I did it
