5 жыл бұрынMarietta (Sara Jakubiak) visits Paul’s (Aleš Briscein) house and is surprised to see a portrait of a woman who looks just like her. The woman is Marie, Paul’s late wife. After Marietta leaves, Paul has an apparition of Marie, in which she steps out of her portrait and sings a lonely song about how death has separated them for now but will one day bring them back together. Directed by Robert Carsen and conducted by Ainārs Rubiķis.

Einer der wenigen wirklich exzellente Tenoere mit der nötigen hohen tessitura und überragender Textverständlichkeit. Ganz wichtig sind doch die gesprochenen Sätze!

Fleming’s was a small lyric voice not suitable at all for this opera. Are you referring to her self obsessive concert singing with a small orchestra?

I spoke once with Renee Fleming in an online chat. She told me that with her voice she thought Korngold's orchestrations would overpower her voice. But she loved korngold have is always happy to do his arias, but not the full operas for the reasons stated
