Hey guys this is something new for me. hope you enjoy. Stayed up really late making this its 5:30 am right now and I pretty much finished everything but let me know what you think of it.

MFG (Gray Zone Warfare developers) stated on their Twitter, that they don't want their game to be nowhere near Tarkov. Actually they are trying to make the game not be Tarkov. This game is oriented around AI, so PvE engagements, not PvP. Yes PvP is a thing, but it's not the main part of the game. And you can't call every extraction shooter Tarkov clone. Just because the game brought this genre to the table doesn't mean other developers can't make their own projects oriented around this genre.

That’s great to hear. I’ll I’ve really only been hearing about how “it’s gonna be a Tarkov killer” which swayed my interests but if the developer acknowledged they don’t want to be like Tarkov it definitely peaks them again. And yes I know to call every extraction shooter is a bit broad I can in fact think of quite a few games there nothing like it. But you have to agree that a lot of the games on steam that use that tag a literally just trying to be Tarkov.

@@maxbossman1 Yes, I agree. There are some literal Tarkov clones, but I think GZW will go in different path. I have high hopes for this game.

@@confused3032 im just hoping it will be decent and playable. So many games in the past 2 years have just flopped on launch. But the content creators who have access are looking like they’re having fun so that’s a good sign

@maxbossman1 from what I've seen GZW is not great. Not yet anyway. Streamers are hyping it. But the people who arent paid are saying no. At current (and I say that because its alpha) Its a boring slog with minimimal rewards. PVP happens so rarely that people force it by spawn camping. The loot is so useless nobody bothers to pick it up even after killing a player. And the AI is spongy. The medical system is cool and the foilage is great looking. Everything else from the animations to the gunplay looks really bad. It needs much more time. Maybe a year or two.

@@tacsmith Streamers aren’t paid, they specifically mentioned that they’re not paid. Just some people enjoy the gameplay, some don’t. That’s all. It has nothing to do with them being paid. And no, it’s not alpha. It’s pre-alpha. Guess why it wasn’t put into early access, I’ll answer for you: because it’s not even remotely finished. And before making another such comments, read about the game first. It’s a primarily PvE game. PvP isn’t the game’s main part. You are just copying words from the streamers.

hello max, i would like to inform you that ghost of tabor has hand smoothing but for some god awful reason you have to toggle it on manually in the options menu. i haven't even played it but i had to tell a friend who was screensharing it to me to look for the setting because his hands were too fucking shaky. though i still agree with you because why in the fuck is it off by default. other than that nitpick this is a great video. you did great.

Have you seen the UI in fighting games? Health Bars are always in the same locations. Have you seen the UI in RPG games and the inventory? They all look pretty much the same. If extraction games aren't for you, then that's your opinion. But there's a lot of folks that are bored with the traditional PVP modes as well as Battle Royale. I don't know what else to say man.

Question: Is there actually any meaningful difference between "a game like Tarkov" and "Tarkov, but slightly different" and can you explain what the difference is please?

Best way I can explain it would be this : a game like Tarkov = gray zone warfare, they’ve got their similarities but at the end of the day they are trying to accomplish different things. Tarkov, but slightly different : Ghost of tabor, it’s quite literally just Tarkov they are trying to make a 1:1 copy but in vr. Hence why it’s Tarkov but slightly different.

And I get that. But why have missions that are basically the same thing but you’re planting different items then? To give the illusion of more content. And that’s my problem with they try to hide how little content there really is by padding their game. I’m not saying it can’t be good in the future but right now it’s not great.

If you don’t like extraction shooters, what kind do you like? The ones that end on a timer? The ones where winning or losing has no impact on your overall experience, other than a minor hit of dopamine when you have a higher digit than everyone in the lobby?

I’m just getting tired of them using essentially the same ui. Nobody said that they HAD to use a near identical ui for their game. It always feel like I’m playing a shittier Tarkov especially when Tarkov isn’t that great already. As for the title? I mean that’s KZfaq for ya.

Red incursion lacks content and has tons of bugs but it was better than any tarkov experience ive had. Tarkov plays like garbage, filled with bugs to but the amount of unecessary filler content in this game to the point it forces you to wait in a queue makes it a great waiting simulator.

Was expecting this video to critique the extraction shooter genre holistically and not just briefly critique three extraction shooters. I think there's a lot to be said about the genre and issues with tactical shooter development in general. Maybe I should become a youtuber lol

I definitely could of made that more obvious lol but you are indeed right. There are a lot of issues currently in not just extraction shooters but just tactical shooters in general *𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘨𝘩* Ready or not *𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘨𝘩* *𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘨𝘩*. But yeah its one of the best time to start creating content currently considering its so accessible so I'd say if you're up to the challenge go ahead.

@@veecho4016 I know lol just confused as to why this man would be telling me to go play them. I’ve played hell divers it’s great and I’m gonna have to say I’m not familiar with the first one. But at least in hell divers case it’s pve at the end of the day and there’s really no risk involved. I would just love to see one that has decent pvp (Tarkov is by no means decent).

Extraction shooters are the only shooters that I enjoy. Most other shooters are mindlessly running around with no repercussions, chasing a pathetic K/D or a dick swinging high kill count and it is basically pathetic to me. Tarkov allows you to create your own goals, all while strategically planning, especially when you hit the lotto in raid and drop a mega Chad, or find a gpu. Tarkov has literally shit on every shooter I have ever played. Yes it has its problem but it certainly isn’t brain dead. People who play COD and shit on tarkov are the same people that think Coldplay is the best band ever.

You’re trashing the entire extraction shooter genre based on Tarkov, some shitty Tarkov rip offs no one cares about and gray zone warfare which you haven’t even played. To make a valid judgment on the extraction shooter genre you need to actually play a representative number of its games e.g. hunt showdown, marauders, dark and darker, etc.

Tarkov ruined extraction shooters?? Its arguable whether Tarkov or Hunt: Showdown created the genre. Either way Tarkov is the best shooter ever made. Just because there are things wrong with it or things each person may or may not prefer makes no objective judgement on the game itself. Sounds like another guy who is mediocre at Tarkov and really just wants to find a safe space where he cant get stomped by chads. Just keep playing Tarkov or play SPT. Once you get destroyed enough times, it stops hurting. Thats just a step to learning the game that everyone goes through. It just proves you havent played enough to get there. As for Gray Zone, its more like Arma than it is Tarkov. In fact, its almost nothing like Tarkov in any way outside of the vendors.

Grayzone warfare is a open world PvEvP game. Judging the game on a pre alpha playtest where it's state isn't even near the original idea is funny. Folks the game is a open world PvEvP sandbox, you make of it what you want. Don't fall for clickbait.
