Extreme Airgun Hunting: Hogging with the Benjamin Marauder

Over the past few months Team Wild has brought you all manner of hogging videos from our good friends in the states, with dogs and swords being the preferred method of harvesting. But this is our week of Airpower specials, so Ian is out in Texas with Terry Tate and a Benjamin Marauder, on a contract hunt for two piglet for the table. It's pitch black and the hogs are hiding in the thick stuff, so it's going to be a challenging hunt.

I hope that Benjamin builds a .30 cal Marauder with a 400cc bottle. It would be a hog hunters dream without having to buy the Alien looking Bullpup they have in .357 Excellent video as always!

Yes, I would say so :) It's a hunting simulator called "The Hunter". And I make KZfaq videos about it often together with Pratze ;)

.25 pellets can go through more than 12 inches of meat. So yes, they can hunt with them

The marauder comes from the factory set at 45 ft lbs, that's 61 joules. It can be adjusted for more or less power with all factory parts. Now, if you want more power and more shot count, you can also mod it with after-market parts. Mine is currently at 50 fpe ( 67 joules ) with 32 good shots from a single fill, with only a few mods done to it.

smaller caliber is *almost* always going to have less of an arc and a longer flight distance.

It all depends on the velocity, the .22 and .25 Marauder will have almost the same range, but the .25 will hit with 50% more energy.

Please! I have the same caliber rifle, and shooting these "Rabbit" size piglets made the Marauder .25 cal look like a 'DAISY' B.B. rifle, 2 bacon strips? Give me a break!! Shoot a real "HOG"..Be worth all that mission,,,

the .25 marauder is capable of a lot more than what he shows here. Ive taken animals this size or a little larger ....cleanly.... with a benjamin 392 pump .22 pellet rifle. the .25 marauder is powerful enough to not be safe in a large back yard, and was hardly challenged by this soft little bbq treat.

To me you had a good shot at the blind, but our view may be differant than yours. Hunting hog is much differant than shooting rats in a barn.

They are cosidered pests detrimental to the environment, plus they breed uncontrollably if you don't keep them in check.A cull is a must but their are just so many of them well into the millions.

H&N Baracuda, they are the ones that come with the Marauder out of box, including the scope...... This was just a advertising video, that was anti-climatic and zero fact on in real life usage of the .25cal.... Albeit he is pushing the bigger is better mantra as well soo impartial this was not.
