hey Chris I hope you are doing well! Thank you for these "extreme beginner" videos! They are really helpful, and well done! I think that it would be nice if you make some videos using cheap paints and NOT using cotton paper, because usually this is our (beginners living in an underdeveloped country) reality. And the paint may behave differently on non-cotton paper.

You really mix colors so well , how about a video where you color match to things, either paintings or objects and nature finds, to show people how to mix the colors, assuming of course they know the basics of color mixing .

Thanks for the lesson Chris. You're a good teacher. I'll work on this scene for the week ahead. I have difficulty with trees. However, I love fencing. Could you do a bunch of videos for extreme beginners with simple backgrounds that feature different fences? 🤔 Regards from Toronto Ontario 🇨🇦 🤗

This is so beautiful, going to try it. I still don’t know how you do those splashes so effortlessly and quickly , is the brush very watery when you do it?

Yes, great question….that is correct, it’s very important that you have plenty of extra water and paint on the brush. If you type my name and the word splashing in KZfaq you’ll see a few of my videos explaining that technique 👍😎🍀

@@cpetri766 Ok will do, so you will actually reload the brush and dip in water then? Oh one more question if you do not mind, so, let’s say I am doing a wash or even just a larger block of color and I want it smooth, I find that a lot of the time as I move the brush from left to right, instead of getting the bead on the bottom that I could bring down, instead I get the bead to the right of the wash, it’s just annoying and I don’t know what I am doing wrong, Any tips, thanks so much Chris, definitely going to do one of your tutorials today!

Also what’s your basic water color paper, I was so disappointed because I took two hours to draw this horse on the best Strathmore and it was terrible, should I just on,y use arches at this point, cause it’s so disappointing otherwise, any recommendations?

Great question, I mostly use Fabriano Artistico or Arches, they perform extremely well compared to other papers in my experience 👍😎

The needle point brush you used, who makes it? Is it called the triangle brush by Silver Ruby medium size. I'm looking for needle point brushes and there are not any for watercolor that I can see.

Hi Nancy, I use the Alvaro Castagnet needle point brushes… the perform incredibly well! 👍😎
