Realmente a cultura americana de ingerir muito açúcar no café da manhã, é difícil para um brasileiro. Panquecas com melado, cereais açucarados, geleias açucaradas, não fazem parte do início do dia do brasileiro. Os cereais americano quando chegaram aqui, continha muito açúcar e com o tempo tiveram de reduzir para serem aceito. Uma vitamina de frutas, pão com manteiga ou mussarela, tapioca recheada com ovos fritos e tomate, café com leite , é mais aceitável pra iniciar o dia. Mas, enfim cada um com seus costumes. A vida segui. 🙏

The Brazilian breakfast is awesome! My favorite is tapioca with cheese and eggs. It is a big problem eating so much sugar for breakfast. I believe it’s harder to learn for kids in school.

É verdade, fora os EUA o único país que vejo consumir café da manhã doce é a Suécia (baseado somente no que conheço), mas para além disso, o Brasileiro adora ingerir açúcar. Todos os nossos doces costumam ser BEM doces, as vezes até demais. Aqui em casa, por existir um histórico de diabetes na família da minha mãe, eu e meus irmãos fomos criados ingerindo pouco açúcar em sucos e outras bebidas, tanto é que quando bebo refrigerante acho muito doce (porém não nego kkkkk). Açúcar é um tópico interessante, mas as vezes pode ser polêmico.

Ainda o café da manhã Brasileiro soa muito açúcarado com o café com leite que leva açucar, tapioca que leva açucar, pãos que levam açucar, e frutas que levam açucar. Eu moro no EE.UU e nunca eu bebo refrigerante. Sendo eu Hispânico eu não gosto de bebidas e comidas geladas como a cerveja, refrigerante, e gelatto.

Sou brasileira e moro nos EUA e absolutamente detesto Walmart- tudo tóxico com poucas excessões de produtos orgânicos. Acho nos super mercados brasileiros 1000 vezes melhor em tudo! Pelo menos em Florianópolis, SC onde meu filho mora!

In any stores in United States and especially those cheap Mexican and Chinese stores are the WORST TOXIC PRODUCTS ever made. I agree United States is getting much more worst closer to Mexico as well. Ghetto ppl are coming out and tries to run the American society with BAD INFLUENCES and it's sooo MESSED UP!!! It’s cool to see someone else having a similar experience as me (American in brazil). Living here with my wife while we wait for her immigration process to finish. It’s definitely something to adjust to the different way of life but it has a lot of positive aspects to it.

1:54 that ribbon in the middle also means that if you have autism you have preferential treatment. I think this is pretty recent because I have an acquaintance in Brazil who recently got a type of identification that provides him this right.

Thanks for the video! The “preferential” sign is for people ages 60 and above, pregnant, handicapped, and with child. Unfortunately no breaks for the overweight population unless handicapped. This is also the norm for seating in public transportation and most lines in Brazil, like a post office, for example.

Aqui no Brasil tem muita facilidade de comer mais natural , em qualquer venda, mercearia, feiras, supermercados e outros você encontra muitas frutas, legumes , verduras, carne, frango e frutos do mar frescos. Comida caseira todos os dias é muito melhor para a saúde. Fast Food pra mim só de vez em quando. Só não come saudável aqui no Brasil quem não quer. Saúde em primeiro lugar!

Já estive três vezes nos EUA, e certamente tem produtos incríveis, mas a alimentação em supermercados não é um deles. Realmente muito processados e congelados. Em compensação maquiagem, roupas, acessórios, eletrônicos etc…são muito mais em conta q no Brasil. Fiz uma baita festa comprando. Gostei do vídeo. ❤️❤️

Something I would like to point is that in Brazil, the shelf milk too have different percentage of fat in it. They have different color in the pack, but is mostly common discribed as "desnatado" and "integral".

milk in Brazil is also divided into full fat, skim and middle ground. integral, semi desnatado and desnatado however you buy Ninho which is only integral

About the preferencial treatment sign, the middle symbol (PUZZLE RIBBON) is designated for Autism Spectrum. Usually, when parents with autistic kids go to the grocery store with their kids, they have the preferencial check out line. It also works for adults on spectrum - high functioning or low functioning. I'm from Brazil (interior de Sao Paulo) but work and live here in US (New Jersey) and I work with special needs students. Just feel like sharing this information with you, about the puzzle ribbon for autism. Love your family and your work here on youtube.

You should do a USA Malls vs Brazilian Malls (or as we call it "Shopping") as a Brazilian who lives in the US I honestly think the Brazilian malls are A LOT better than the US ones, this is obviously because I haven't gone to the best malls here in the US, but from the ones I've visited, they have nothing other than actual stores where you can buy things, plus some super markets and some restaurants, while in Brazil you have stores + arcades + movie theaters + restaurants + some malls (not all of them, but many of them also have bowling alleys). Of course there are some huge malls here in America, with whole amusement parks inside of it, but just in general I think the ones in Brazil are better.

It is the same here in Europe, shopping malls are not a thing. I reckon this must be due to safety issues and violence in Brazil. You can find most of Brazilian nicest stores, movie theaters etc sometimes only within different shopping malls whilst in the USA/Europe such places can be found pretty much around different streets. Thus, Brazilians invest a whole lot more in shopping malls and facilities.

@GamerSVR6 where do you live? I live in Texas and we have all those things at the Mall. Not only the Arcade and bowling alley, but a ice skating rink all year long. And several stores and restaurants.

Eu não sabia que no RJ não tinha... Em BH e em BSB vocçê acha Walmart/samsclub, normalmente um do lado do outro, e no Sam's Club você consegue achar algumas coisas importadas, como maple syrup, o que eu gosto de lá é o milho de pipoca (que faz aquela pipoca gorda), a cobertura de sorvete da Hershey's e produtos de limpeza em grande volume.

Muito bom que eles vendem um monte de comida enlatada e já colocam uma farmácia própria do lado, visionários. Haha Brincadeiras a parte, caramba.. é muita comida processada. Interessante para provar algumas, mas não para comer todos os dias. Aqui tinha Walmart, também. Mas, eles quebraram, não sei por qual motivo exatamente.. I believe Walmart went broke in Brazil because of all of the importation taxes and fees. They could not keep their Prices low enough in Brazil.

@@OurBrazilianLife Essas taxações são para proteger a indústria local, mesmo que ela não exista para muitos produtos haha. Isso é resultado de anos de governo com ideias socialistas retrógradas. Vc encontrava artigos de Golf, Baseball etc (quem joga golf no Brasil!?). A ideia de promoção todo dia não cola com o brasileiro, se tem "promoção todo dia", então, não tem promoção... a ideia de "comida padrão" até funciona em fast-food mas "atendimento padrão", não ! Etc etc

Temos outras varias variedades, como o feijão enlatado rsrsr, esse mercado é pequeno seria interessante gravar em um supermercado da rede carrefour, como o Atacadão por exemplo. é a maior rede de supermercado do Brasil, tipo o walmart Brasileiro. Ótimo video :D

Morei nos EUA de 1996 a 2021 e o conheço de cima a baixo, esquerda à direita. Morei em Boston por 20 anos, na Flórida por 3 e na Califórnia por 2. Posso lhe dizer que o Walmart costuma variar muito entre um estado ao outro, até mesmo de uma cidade para a outra. Eles costumam se adaptar ao povo da região. Por exemplo em Boston costumam ter muitos produtos hispânicos, brasileiros e asiáticos. Na Flórida vc vai encontrar muitos produtos brasileiros e hispânicos. Já na Califórnia são muitos produtos hispânicos e asiáticos. Farinha de mandioca, panelas Tramontina, guaraná Antártica, produtos da bauduco (principalmente o panetone) se encontrava com uma certa facilidade lá. Produtos enlatados e congelados são mantidos em casa principalmente para horas de aperto ou de última hora, outros casos de uso desses produtos são pessoas de baixa renda ou estudantes universitários que procuram economizar dinheiro por fato dos estudos superiores serem bem caros lá.

Great video! Love your videos and your family! I'm from Rio and lived here all my life. I remember my great grandmother and her kitchen, the flavors, the smells! And my beloved grandmother's food (her daughter), I miss it a lot, probably will ever do. Me and my wife cook almost everyday and we hate even frozen foods. I always considered American size packages scary! A gallon milk is so weird! Well having said that I love the US and think it's the most important country in the world. In many ways.

nao comemos cereal no cafe da manha pois fomos criado com pao manteiga cafe com leite e etc. nos aqui temos uam padaria em cada esquina e pao sempre fresquinho e quentinho . ja os americanos moram sempre distante dos supermercados e em condominios fechados , nao tem como levantar de manha e comprar pao fresquinho.

FYI - you can buy CAESAR salad dressing (Kisabor) and CASEIRO (HEMMER), it almost the same as RANCH. I put it on salads, fish and vegetables I GROCERY shop in SC at KOCH, BRASIL ATACADISTA, IMPERITRIZ, ANGELONI, FORT ATACADISTA You can buy fresh pumpkin and sweet potatoes in many large fresh fruit / vegetable markets in BR

A rede Walmart americama fechou as portas aqui no Brasil e retornou com tudo aos Estados Unidos, sendo que uma das razões para isso foi a não adaptação da marca à cultura consumidora dos brasileiros, apesar de anos atuando aqui no Brasil. Cultura e hábitos de compra completamente diferentes da cultura e dos hábitos americanos, tanto que nos primeiros dias aqui no Brasil os supermercados da bandeira Walmart apresentaram aos consumidores brasileiros tacos e equipamentos de golfe, esporte desconhecido e não praticado por grande parte dos brasileiros. O Walmart teve o seu lugar ocupado pela rede de supermercados BIG, muito mais antenada nos hábitos culturais brasileiro de compra e com mais entendimento do consumidor brasileiro.

Ninho milk is quite cheap in Rio Janeiro. SC it's getting up there. All that depends on where it's made, and the state taxes that get added on. Eg you buy goiabada in Rio probably quite cheap but if you were to buy jams/jellies/marmalades, that come from mainly the two southernmost states they would be typically expensive in Rio. But quite cheap in SC and RS.

Loved the video! I want to share a few tips: You can buy fresh milk in the plastic bag as well, usually at the bakery, and that needs to be boiled =) You will find a lot more options of baby formula at the big drugstores, some supermarkets have them but the drugstores have more, they also have the ones for lactose intolerant babies and things like that.

You can put batata palha on anything! I really missed it while in the States. Like you said, we don’t have Ranch, and another thing is sour cream, those two are things I miss in our Brazilian grocery stores.

Que senti falta morando fora. Foi sucos naturais, batido na hora. Nem de laranja tem. Só caixinha ou lata. Sabe aquela mistura. Laranja com acerola, com cenoura. E não seria difícil pra eles tbm,era só congelar empacotar a vácuo e bater na hora. Diferente tudo bem não ter. Maracujá caju melancia, açaí. Mas tem outros de época. E molho de tomate, feito em casa com tomates mesmo, não empacotado. Deve ser por ser caro os naturais, pq tbm vai cebola, salsinha,etc temperos. De resto da pra improvisar

No Brasil existem doces em potes, dentre eles doce de abóbora, de abóbora com côco , de leite, de côco, de cidra, laranja, etc. Geralmente são feitos em Minas Gerais. Minha mãe costumava fazer doces num tacho de cobre, fazia doce de mamão, cidra, goiaba cascão, goiabada, figo em calda, laranja, banana, doce de leite crespinho, frutas cristalizadas, etc. Os doces eram guardados em potes mas a família era grande e as visitas diárias também, então acabavam rapidamente, mesmo feitos em grande quantidade. A tarefa de lavar o tacho e arear com limão e sal era minha.

You actually have Mandioca here in US, you can search as Manioc or Cassava (Found quite easily in Latin and some Asian Markets), Tapioca (the Manioca/Cassava Starch) also is available in US for a few years now on Asian and Latin markets but honestly the ones in Brazilian market are the best flavor and quality and also because the option of Regular Tapioca Flour and Granulated Tapioca Flour to make Dadinho de Tapioca, also the Milk you guys buy can also be found in Latin Markets and Walmart itself under the name NIDO, but on the powder version, Guarana can also be found but still a bit rare and the Queijo Minas, you can find a similar one to it in Latin Markets under the name of Queso Fresco, I already even saw it on Dollar Tree. P.S: I miss a lot the drinkable yogurts from brazil and the huge variety of meat (specially because you didn't mention on the video but the majority of meat in Brazil is Grass-fed not grain fed and your family probably feel and know the difference it makes on quality and flavor, also the type of cattle used in Brazil the Nelore has a special cut that the cattles such as the Angus don't have that is the Hump (Cupim) that is heaven in meat form and BTW in US Walmart now you can find Picanha labeled as Picanha because its the actual cut and not the cross section (Sirloin Cap, that we used to settle for years ago) Also wish you guys have mentioned that despite in theory sugar being sugar, it's nice to mention that the majority of brazilian products are made with Sugarcane sugar in opposition to US products that usually are made with Corn Syrup and not only they have flavor differences but Corn Syrup is much more processed than refined sugarcane sugar. Hi ! Glad you're having a good time in Brazil ! Nice to see your videos, they're very pleasant and respectful ! Just a couple suggestions though : 1) Make a video comparing houses. Some differences : every house (even apartments) do have a so called "LAVANDERIA COM TANQUE". IOW an utility area. For me, as a Brazilian, is absolutely UNCONCEIVABLE to live in a place WITHOUT a "TANQUE" ! Even when the place does have a washing machine. That's a staple in Brazil. Also, house construction methods are way different too. Here the majority (almost unanimity) of houses are made of bricks. You'll see some wooden houses @ the south of Brazil but they're not common. The "Sótão" is very different too. Here in Brazil is usually unusable and generally locked due to security issues (on the houses that do have them). Water heating systems also are "Chuveiros Elétricos". I'd guess 99% of heating systems are like that. House cleaning also very different. We love to wash the kitchen and bathrooms and balconys. They're called "ÁREA MOLHADA". Sempre que tem área molhada a gente adora ir lá com a mangueira (ou balde) e jogar "splashs and splashs" de água com sabão e lavar tudo com vassoura ! LOL 2) The investment scenery (landscape). Compare REITs to FIIs, Stock Markets and taxing. Just some curiosities : dividends from stocks (and also rents from FIIs = REITS) are FREE from Taxes in Brazil. Fixed income is hugely different too. Also, when you have a loss, say you sold stocks with a 10k loss, you can deduce this loss from future profits. Say later on you have a 35 K gain. Then you deduce the former 10k loss and you'll pay tax over 25 K. This "loss bill" does not prescribe. IOW, "a conta de prejuízos a compensar não prescreve. Vc pode carregar ela de um ano pro outro. 10 anos depois vc pode deduzir essa perda de um ganho futuro". 3) Real State environment. Buying, selling or renting properties here and there... There are lots of other differences but those are a good start. BTW I've never been in USA, just Europe. You're having such a wonderful time here that I feel ashamed, as a Brazilian, not to know (experience) all you're enjoying here ! Best wishes !

What about making a video of what you cannot get (easily) in Brazil that is common here in the US? Like maple syrup, sour cream, ranch dreessing, and so forth, and, most importantly, what would be a substitute/ make it from scratch recipes, or means of aquiring them in Brazil.

Felizmente, está ficando um pouco mais fácil achar algumas coisas nos mercados Americanos. Por exemplo tem goiaba e mandioca. Até tenho acho panettone no Dollar Tree! E bom que tem mercados latinos como Ranchos em Utah. Da para achar goiabada e suco de maracujá. Quando estou em Salt Lake City, Utah, sempre tenho que visitar Brazilian Flavors. Têm muitas coisas lá e os preços são razoáveis :)
