Their nature / personality seems to be so very different from "regular" budgies, I mean they do not respond and enthusiastically play with one another, they seem to prefer being alone in their own space! ...

Exhibition budgies are bigger. Is same as a little person is more agil than a big person, also probably accentuated because of the moulting.

I don't understand why so many people let their birds permanently remain so tatty and grubby ? Birds with this amount of feather need regular spraying to look clean and tidy and fresh. I would think that this is just common knowledge but obviously not. When they look this scruffy there is nothing beautiful about them in my opinion.

Birds are probably moulting, no all breeders select quallity before healty for me is 50% each, but everyone breed little bite on his side.

en mejico el nivel no es tan alto pero en este grupo te podran asesorar: facebook.com/groups/budgerigarclubmexico/ se puede cruzar con periquitos ya que son periquitos, no con lo demas. Comen semillas de periquito y tambien pasta de cria verduras y vejetales (ojo que no todas son no toxicas para ellos) el precio es relativo en su calidad oferta y demanda.

Elaborating on what A Dragon said, basically how feather dusters get their feathering is through the fact that the gene to tell the animal when the feathers should stop growing isn’t present, therefore the birds feathers will keep growing and growing, eventually sapping all nutrients from the bird and killing it. The animal cannot consume enough nutrients to keep it alive... they usually love less then a year and I wish social media would put them in a different light. Also, this effect pops up most in inbred birds, so if a pet store is creating a lot of these birds you should probably stop supporting them. Hope this clears things up!

In the USA and Canada they are generally only available from a breeder. As you know you rarely if "never" find them at pet stores. Contact a local bird club / avicultural society and/or attend a show.

Diarrea in budgies ir related in the feeding. When they eat more veggies shit is more liquid than when they eat seed.

Hay que vuelan mas y que vuelan menos, pero no depende de los pajaros sino de que elige el criador. Cuando seleccionamos nuestras aves hay que mirar muchas cosas a parte de su fisico como son la capacidad de volar o la fertilidad. hay muchos detalles que tener en cuenta.

tienes que buscar criadores de periquito ingles, por supuesto que hay criadores en tu zona solo que no seran criadores con tanta calidad. Igualmente no podrias comprar ninguno de estos aunque viajaras a uk a su casa. Para algun dia tener alguna oportunidad de comprar algun pajaro mejor lo que has de hacer es ser activa en el hobby y el mismo criar y concursar te permite conocer mas gente y muy a la larga mejorar ya sea criando o comprando. Mucha suerte.

Why must you constantly play music either talk to the breeder asking questions we all like to hear or if you can’t do that get someone who can or let’s just hear the birds them selves but ditch the musIc just cannot see the point 😖
