Watched this live with you. I sat safely on my recliner with a beer and took a drink every time you said, "Here we go" or "Oh wow". I sure hope no one was injured in those buildings. I been through several hurricanes myself. One time in a tent at the Jersey shore. Great shots and coverage. Good luck, be safe.

This is in Plaquemines Parish in an area called Myrtle Grove. The small building that blew away was a little store and the bigger building next to it was a bar! This is located right across the highway from a marina. Hard to watch, lots of great times at that bar, but great footage!

If you, "Max", reply to my comment here, I've seen the majority of vids, about the Great Iowa Derecho of 2020 here on KZfaq, while that storm was in progress. The chilling thing about that, is that there really wasn't too much difference, in the violence of that windage. Clear-air, downsloping windstorms, can sometimes approach this level of violence as well . . . Diablos, Santa Anas, Sundowners, Chinooks, etc. . . . I've been through a few Diablos in the San Francisco Bay Area, where trees have been mown down, shingles launched, power flashes. I could feel our house flex in some of the bigger gusts. It need not be moisture-laden blows, such as Cyclonic/Anti-Cyclonic (Southern Hemisphere) Storms, Derechos, Tornadoes, nor Super-Blizzards, "downslopers" can do it, too.

Too bad you weren't in Iowa for our hurricane! The destruction from the storm was mind boggling! In Cedar Rapids they lost over half of their trees! We live in a small town of 600. Our shingles were not all ripped off but had to do all of the roof because the shingles were loose. Big parts of 2 trees came down, on on the corner of the house. It knocked some blocks off of the chimney. The scenes of the rain was just like that here. That happened on August 10, 2020 and some in Cedar Rapids are still waiting on insurance, tree removal and repairs. We still have work to be done inside where we had a leak after a weeks worth of rain-before the roof was done.

The weather channel drove me nuts because they kept saying it’s going to weaken because of the cooler waters. Water temperature isn’t that big of problem for hurricanes that don’t have bad wind shear and dry air affecting it.

Numerous very large oil industry vessels with expensive weather instruments in Port Fourchon Louisiana confirmed sustained winds of 125 to 130. That's a strong Cat 3. Not 2. And the proof is in the damage.

Impressive footage of the disintegrating building, when a building goes like that, it put debris into the wind field which can slam into nearby buildings, and you can get a domino effect of structural damage. I wonder if that building was just very poorly constructed, no other buildings in the video disintegrated like that. The building next to that one had major roof damage, but the verandah probably contributed to that, which the wind can get under and lift off.
