It is amazing how something that was told to us so many years ago can still have an impact on our lives. It is too bad that your teachers didn't try to lift you up, and instead kept you down. Little did they know you would become such a positive influence on so many people's lives. You do great work, and I hope that the positive feedback you receive will help you see that. I know its hard, but try to ignore any negative comments you receive, some people thrive on bringing others down. I am sure the majority of the people who watch your videos are in awe of the transformations you make, not only on peoples living areas, but their lives. Keep being the shining light in the darkness. Barbi, remember we are here because we LIKE YOU SO MUCH! And you’re right, there’s only so many ways to sweep or pick up dirty clothes off the floor. But it’s still NOT boring. We, your subscribers love cleaning videos for lots of reasons. For me, it’s motivating. And I love the before and after. I find it so satisfying to watch the transition. And she needs the help obviously. I’m sure she’s just completely overwhelmed. It’s a hard learning curve to live on your own, be responsible for your home, and bills and then add a little one to that mix. For older people those things are challenging. So don’t worry about us being bored. We are NOT. And don’t speed it up too fast. And I think the perfect video length is around 40-45 minutes. Otherwise you just get comfy and it’s over! Lol.

My mom was/is a massive hoarder and it took me like a decade after becoming an adult of slowly learning to not be that way myself. It was a gradual thing and even today I have to remind myself not to hoard clothes and things. This year my mom has finally started her journey of cleaning up and I've been helping as much as she allows/asks. I know it's not something you can push on someone, they need to be ready to change and be genuinely sick of the clutter themselves.

Being a cleaner is very taxing on your body and mind..and not everyone can do it. I've been cleaning for 35 years and I'm still cleaning. I love my job and I love helping people. I think if you love your work ,it's not work at all. I think it's bad for people to think cleaners aren't smart ..we are smart and can work through your problems with cleaning and organizing your home.

I've never worked as a professional cleaner, but in every job I've ever had the one thing that got me rave reviews was my ability to clean and organize. I'd get a job working in an office and my main job wasn't cleaning and organizing, but after a time the boss realized the office was working much smoother because I put in place certain practices that kept the work environment tidy. Never underestimate the importance of being an organizer, it was always appreciated in any job I had.

That has happened to my kids and grandkids too and I always tell them you choose your future, not others, prove them wrong. You have done that! There is nothing wrong with being a cleaner, if it is something you love doing and enjoy doing then go for it. Every job is important. I was a cleaner for many many years and to see the results of ones efforts and hard work it is so satisfying and if it helps people it is even better.

I love your videos. I am a very good cleaner too. I have just found a job cleaning air BnBs. I am 65 years old and I have not worked since 1986. I stayed home to raise my family, but I am now divorced. I have no education to speak of, and no real skills other than cleaning. Lucky for me I know how to clean, so I can now support myself. I am proud of myself and you should be proud of yourself too. You have a kind heart and you help so many people. You are an inspiration to all of us.

Messy but didn’t see the bugs and extreme filth evident in other areas you have dealt with. Barbie, you are just so precious for helping this young mother and I just want to encourage this mother to keep on establishing a daily system to keep the things under control. You can do it!

Very good video Barbie.. I don’t mind seeing you pick up and separate items. It’s a wonderful way to do it by focusing on one thing at a time. Having bags or bins to separate like items is very helpful. I enjoyed hearing a bit about your life when you were younger, thanks for sharing. Take care and be safe.

You are such a beautiful person. You don't shame people you literally COMFORT THEM. You have an absolutely GORGEOUS HEART. Thank you for teaching others including me; with such kindness. Fun fact: hoarding is a form of OCD, letting go is hard for us as we attach memories to things. When we get rid of the thing, we often forget the memory attached to it.

It seems with a dresser, bookshelf and those totes, an adult person could strive keep like items together (such as how you separated the soiled clothing items) so they could be more easily found and used as opposed to throwing everything onto the floor together in one pile. I cannot imagine trying to safely walk from their beds to the bathroom at night without tripping/ falling or, as a a child,trying to find my toys and enough( floor space to play. I always feel sad for the child as I imagine their overall mental and physical health is impacted. Thank you for providing an organized and safer sleep environment for them Barbie!

I was a teacher a long time ago but I saw so many things in the system that I just didn't agree with so I didn't last. I think it was just terrible that your teacher put you down like that and I am so sorry. But that teacher was wrong! Look at you! You had the courage to come to another country and another culture. You can speak another language fluently! You have great technical skills to make these videos. You are extremely hard working and always do a good job. And you are kind and compassionate to people and that is the most important thing in this world! You have goals and a fighting spirit to do well. I would say you were probably one of the BEST students because of all those qualities, Barbie!! I can see you doing many great things in your life.

Sweetie you are not just a cleaner. Think of how many people you have taught how to clean and organize their homes. The are other hats you wear. You are someone people can trust and rely on. You are a great friend, listener, advisor and sounding board. Sometimes people need to vent. They aren’t necessarily asking you to solve their problems. They just want to unload a story or a point of view.You are nonjudgmental and kind. So see, who cares how others feel about you. What matters is how you feel about yourself. This is far from boring ! I love your story and I love how you’ve helped me understand how to do this with my own room . You actually reminded me of how I used to do them when I was younger. So now I’m gonna tackle my worst room thanks to you . And to be told you’d be a cleaner , as if was derogatory. But now you’re probably making great money cleaning! Cleaners makes great money ! I do construction cleaning sometimes and it’s great money . I do finish carpentry too . I let my own house get like this one because I’d be so tired from working all day . I’m a bit of a plant hoarder and hoarder in general. I have problems throwing things away if they don’t work. It’s hard for me to fathom throwing away things that I spent so much money on. Things like lipsticks and hair and skin products. Feeling more motivated to throw things away now thanks to you. You are right. The clutter is exhausting for your brain. And it makes me very tired and unhappy. so these things that I am holding onto are not giving me happiness. I can’t believe anyone told you that you wouldn’t be anything when you grew up. Look at you now. You are helping millions of people and hopefully making extremely great money. And if you enjoy cleaning, all the better. I actually enjoy my jobs. No, I’m no rocket scientist. But I do beautiful work no matter which of the two jobs I’m doing. And people enjoy whatever I build or the space I clean. And I make pretty darn good money. I’m not rich. But I’m happy and you have made me happy by letting me see this glimpse into your life and motivating me. So thank you for that.❤

It's not boring watch the clear floor space getting bigger. I also like that your approach is what I'd do: establish what the bulk of it is ( clothes/trash/empty boxes) , in this case clothes, & clear that first . I do wonder if when you leave you advise them that a 5min whip round in each room every day stops things getting this bad. You just can't only ever clean every other week, especially if you have kids & pets or it gets overwhelming, like this place is. I get that depression or hoarding leads to this, but they need to gain the skil of keeping on top of it before it gets too overwhelming to sort alone.

When I first started my life after high school, everything I did was to show my family and old friends what I could accomplish. One day I realized that I no longer cared what other people thought. I had built a life that I was happy with. My accomplishments only mattered to me - and that was the most satisfying thing of all.

All my adult life, I have a pile of clothes in my bedroom . It’s what I have worn all week. I’m inches away from being any of Barbie’s projects. No more pile of clothes, no, no, no. Barbie helps me make a better life for myself!

My uncle had bipolar disorder and severe depression. I cleaned and organized his apartament many times and it was just like the ones you show. Perhaps that's why I follow you. I understand and I think I'm not being judgemental, but kids cannot live in these conditions!!!!

I learned from Mack to try and take a break for 10 minutes every hour when you're doing work like that because it does tend to over stimulate the brain and you will do better to walk away from it for just a few minutes😊

Like Barbie said in the video. The super are going to fix the floors and then the mother will buy some furniture. ❤ I have done this kind of cleaning at my friends house. She had a post birth depression after she had her 4 child and her husband had moved out. Children can’t clean and especially without a parent to help. Good job, Barbie!

I grew up in a house like this, probably worse, this one is quite clean although very untidy/cluttered. As the child grows he/she will become more conscious of the difference between their own home and friend’s homes, and as a result won’t invite friends around. Its not ideal, but its not as bad as you might think. Children who know no difference just get on with life. I’m just grateful we had a home at all, my mother struggled quite a bit.

I love that you took the time to sort the client’s clothes. I bet that was very helpful to her. How did you come from Hungary to the US? Did your parents bring you as a child or did you migrate as an adult? I love watching you sort stuff. I clean and sort like you. Your videos are nice to watch because of the way you treat these people with love and kindness.

I'm a hoarder myself, not bad as in the videos you making, but I got motivation from this content and do something in my house, like one task or something like that. I have mental issues, and also my leg is not in a well condition right now, so it is not easy for me, but I'm trying. Even if I making a big mess in the kitchen, I make healthier food (and not ordering some expensive unhealthy meals) or something like that.

You know; I always like to know what happens to the tings you are sorting, for ex. when you were sorting the clothes into bags and bins I kept wondering if it all needed to be washed and if she has a washing machine. Where she can store clothes and all the other things so it´s easier to keep the room tidy. I love organizing and you have many good opportunities to tell us about that, so many things to put into place 😃 You sometimes say that you don´t know if what you are doing is interesting and you don´t know what to say and I´m like: Please tell! What are you sorting now and what will happen to the things! 😄 Thank you for the videos and for the good work you do for people.
