🇸🇦SAUDI ARABIA - How do you travel to Saudi Arabia? By crossing the desert, of course. I decided to take the new Oman-Saudi Arabia road that crosses the dunes of the stunning Rub al Khali desert - The Empty Quarter.
The road starts at Tanam in Ibri Wilayat and ends at the Omani border, about 160km away. On the Saudi side, it runs for 550 km before linking up with the highway leading to Riyadh.
Is Saudi Arabia safe? From eating and sleeping at petrol stations surrounded only by trucks to being totally isolated among the dunes, this was my epic experience. Let's the adventure begin.
