3 жыл бұрынAhh, it feels so good to be back with my first video of 2021. I have missed y'all, but I've been busy putting together this EXTREME room makeover for yall! Today's video features so much of what I love - thrifted and DIY home decor (literally 90% of this room is all thrifted or DIY!!) I really tried to work within a budget to show you guys that you don't have to spend a lot of money to have a cute, aesthetic room transformation! I used a lot of inspiration from tiktok and pinterest and am SO proud with how it turned out!! Hope you love it!

Painting a room tips: -home depot paint is better than lowes -but if you are new to picking out paint consider going to a local store that specializes in paint (Benjamin Moore stores for example). People that work at those stores are experts!! And so helpful at figuring out what you need. -DO NOT buy rollers, brushes, paint trays and such at lowes and home depot! The same things are a fraction of the price at Big Lots and Dollar Tree. -buy the better paint, it is more up-front but it will save you so much heart ache and money in the long run -paint bathrooms with outdoor paint. That paint gets wet! - do not buy Walmart paint...just don't

i love how it turned out! just a tip- as someone who has used power tools quite often, try not to wear flowy clothing or anything that hangs (dresses, skirts, loose fitting tops, etc) because it is very easy to get it caught in the power tools. again, great job, but be careful!

Agreed they’ve gonna so downhill in the last year. I’ve actually found some of my best homewares finds there but only on like weekdays. They wanted so much $$ for their stuff too... I’m generally super unimpressed by nashville thrift stores lately. It’s gotten so trendy that all the good stuff gets taken 😤

Yessss girl!! FB marketplace is *THE PLACE* for furniture!! I furnished my entire 2 BR apartment by buying things from local old ladies and everything was so affordable i couldn't believe it!! Don't sleep on thrifted home decor folks, trust me!! I think the most expensive thing i own is my $150 TV - I got my couch for $15, wall art $2-4 a piece, bed frame $60, etc. I did what you did and madeover all the ugly old furniture into beautiful pieces that look more luxurious than they really are. Glad I'm not the only one who does this, I'm surprised more ppl our age aren't taking advantage of marketplace

I’ve watched so many room makeovers that always follow a neutral palette and although that aesthetic is beautiful, I think the part of me that craves color and pastel was never appeased. The room came out so great, Taylor, and I love that you included the whoopsies and darnits along the way... Weirdly I am most envious of all the frames you were able to thrift! Like they are not that much more $$ at a place like Michael's but it is just so much better to get them secondhand, and most times they are more unique too!

the entire room looks ah mah zing! on the twinkle light ikea hack, if you ever want anything brighter, amazon has battery operated candles that are pretty bright. My favorite piece is definitely your custom console table!

WOW! Love your new office! And the fact that its pretty much all thrifted or DIY is AMAZING! I know your confidence is boosted by this project and even though the learning curve was steep and you were anxious about some of it, you learned so much! And thanks for sharing the struggles along the way. The tiled table is my favorite piece (of course the one that took the longest lol).
