A fantastic job, the roof cleaning has revealed that a few roof tiles are broken and should soon be replaced with whole tiles.

Yes, sometimes the moss can be hiding the odd cracked tile and the cleaning process can reveal where they are.

It was time to do it again last week and this time I had a flat surface cleaner for my Nilfisk. No custom extendable pole so I just strapped it to a window cleaning pole and a rope on the trigger. Sooooo much quicker and much more satisfying.

Such a huge difference. Wish I had bought that attachment earlier. I did my kitchen roof with just the normal spinning nozzle. Took ages. After the biocide to prevent further growth, is there something that can be used to seal up the porous surfaces of the tiles?

You can get a paint coating for roof tiles but I don’t offer that service. I had a customer who had it applied to their roof but they still got moss growing on top of the paint, so I stick to the biocide application as a preventative measure.😃👍🏼

If you don't mind me asking, what do you do about the guttering/waste that comes off the roof? Also, does a roof in poor condition (i.e. lots of broken/missing roof tiles) affect your decision to do the job or how you do it?

Every job is different and you have to decide what the best approach will be. I will block up the down pipes before we start cleaning. A lot of the work is in the clean up afterwards, clearing out the gutters and the debris below.😃👍🏼

We usually use a cloth or rag to block up the down pipes or sometimes something like a bit of chicken wire.👍🏼

What is the length of that wand and where can I find one? What is the products name for that wand? Also, would this set up work on a metal roof? I currently softwash, but sometimes I need some agitation but don't want to get on a slippery metal roof.

We are mainly just using a Gardiner backpack to apply the biocide for now. Simple but effective. I will explain the pressure washing tool in my next video.😃👍🏼

What pressure do you run the machine at? Would have thought you need to be reasonably gentle, especially on older tiles. Also does the biocides also seal the tiles?

I use my pressure washer at about half revs or a bit less, so it puts out less pressure. The biocide doesn’t seal, but it acts as a preventative.😃👍🏼

Great video Ashley, how you do you decide which roofs/tiles to use this method on? Is there such a think as a roof not suitable for pressure washing? Bad state of repair aside. What about all these roofers saying you’ve ruined that roof lol. I currently offer scrap and bio but want to use this method too. Be good to get a video about your approach to each job and the risks to consider. I’m just bricking it that water is gonna come through the roof lol.

Yes, we hire the scaffold tower and line up a couple of jobs together to make it worthwhile. We did two smaller roofs a couple of days before this one.💪🏼😃👍🏼
