Please note that this is not a complete show - I don't have the entire episode. From 1969, Bill Cullen hosts the NBC game show "Eye Guess". Jack Clark is the announcer.

Didn't know this film existed other than the copy I have. I was the cameraman, Jan, that is shown in this clip and that Bill Cullen referred to. I have the complete show on a 16MM kinescope that NBC gave me. Brought back a lot of nice memories. Bill Cullen was a great guy to work with.

I wish there were more episodes of this show floating around, as well as all of the other NBC game shows of the era.

I won it all on Eye Guess. The 1969 Malibu I won was the over the top! Tried to get info from NBC on their archives in the mid 80s. Little cooperation there. Don't think they realized contestants would have paid to get a copy to enjoy all these years later.

"Eye Guess" was the first successful game show independently produced by Bob Stewart in 1966. He left Goodson-Todman Productions (now Freemantle Television) that year following the cancellation of the original "Price Is Right", one of three games ("To Tell The Truth" and "Password" are the others) developed as executive producer.

If it wasn't for Bob Stewart, G-T wouldn't have been as successful!

The original announcer is Don Pardo. Because of scheduling conflicts with Jeopardy!, Pardo was replaced by Jack Clark and stayed till the end of 1969.

That music you hear as Jack Clark is describing the prizes...and boy is it a lot of them...was also used on Three on A Match. And what a win too, even for 1968.

At that time, the series aired weekdays at 12:30pm(et), right after Art Fleming's "JEOPARDY!".

Bill was looking heavy on this show. It was the beginnings of Pancreatitus. A serious condition. Being a smoker, it added to this unhealthy condition. Cullen was doing To Tell the Truth at the same time. When Eye Guess went off the air, Cullen had major surgery, lost 30 pounds, grew his hair out and returned to To Tell the Truth.

I suspect "Eye Guess" was created as a comedy game show, with the comedy coming from contestants revealing wrong answers. And Bill Cullen did his usual outstanding job of keeping the show moving along.

This looks like it's from 1968, because on September 2 of that same year, they switched to the "Stop and Go" format for the bonus round.

Jan if you have the entire episode my husband Robert Grimmer was on Eye Guess in January of 1969, is he on the episode that you own? I would love to show the grandchildren. He won it all including the Firebird!

What is the name for the second theme used for "Eye Guess"/ I remember the first one being "Sugar Lips" by Al Hirt, but could never figure out what the second was, as per clip, dating back to 1969. I would appreciate it greatly if someone could figure it out for me. It can be hard to listen to, because of the quality of the clip, but still be heard if one listens hard enough.

Looks like Jan was operating a RCA TK-41. It must have gotten warm in the studio (Studio 6A by any chance?) I was in Studio 6A in 1995 for a taping of Conan O'Brien.

I don't know its title but it was composed by regular Bob Stewart and occasional Goodson/Todman composer Bob Cobert. Surprisingly, it was never recycled on another Stewart game show series or game show pilot. Cobert, however, leter revised his "reveal" countdown as the famous 60-second "Pyramid" countdown. The latter first appeared in a TV commercial and "The $10,000 Pyramid" immortalized it. It also was used on "Chain Reaction," the second "$ale of the Century," and "GO!".

Bill Cullen one of the greatest game show hosts ever. He had polio he had to hide it because NBC would him ever walking with crutches and him swinging his out because he leg braces. I have polio and wear leg braces and walk with a high platform Walker. I'm mad at NBC for treating Bill Cullen that way NBC should have been sued for that wow.

Bill looks a little heavier here. Shortly after the run of eye guess, he came down with Pancreatitis and lost 30 pounds. Seems weird to me he never seemed to put back on the weight he lost.

Bill was looking very pudgy here. It turned out to be serious where he needed surgery after Eye Guess went off the air. He was diagnosed with pancreatitis. He lost 30 pounds let his hair grow out.
