I have one fixed floater with the shape of a croissant after the collapse of my vitreous. I have one slice of pineapple 4 to 5 times a week for a year. The floater lost most of its shape and only remains two points. I don´t know what influence had on the small dose of bromelain but I`m getting better. As I know bromelain don't dissolve collagen but it slows blood clotting, perhaps it may reduce collagen fibers clumps

Thanks for your video, Dr. Tai. A couple of years ago I had a round floater in my right eye, I was alarmed as it was severe. Through the research of my own, I deduced that it was from my optic nerve. I researched ways to treat my condition and learned that sucking out the floater to include the entire gel sac and then replacing the fluid was an option. This seemed like a last resort for me so I began eating pineapples. I eat pineapples every day for three weeks and the floater disappeared. I recently had the same thing happen in my left eye. I went back to the pineapple and it's been a week. The floater has diminished by 60 or so percent and I will continue to eat pineapples until it's completely gone. I still have no floaters in my right eye. I turn 60 this month. Due to my personal experience, I'll continue to enjoy pineapples for the rest of my life. Sincerely,

I have floaters even though I regularly consumed pineapple because I liked it. I increased my consumption after reading the study, but noticed no improvement. Even before seeing this video I suspected the paper was probably not objective, Taiwan is a major grower/exporter of pineapples. Of course I have no proof, but - sadly - biased studies are not uncommon. And Dr. Tai makes a lot of good points.

The enzyme in the pineapple helps me quite a bit and pretty much eliminated about 90% of all floaters in My overall vision, at least that's the way it seems to me. The first time, I experienced eye floaters is about 20 years ago (I’m 67 now and retired). Over the years I have seen up to 5 floaters in my left eye. I didn’t had a healthy style of living and had a too much stress work related and too less sleep - constantly exhausted, not to talk about alcohol consumption. Anyways, my live got more in order, less stress, healthy eating and more sleep over the last 5 years 🙂 The floaters are almost gone, I only see 2 sometimes but very transparent compared to 15-20 years ago. I won’t draw a conclusion out of that, but since my life became calmer, my floaters may decided to hide somewhere away out of the field of view 😉 from my perspective - they almost disappeared 🤔

A great video. I had posterior vitreous detachment and a retinal horseshoe tear which was tacked down. There are different classes of floaters. One, are the vitreous gel floaters caused by collagen clumping during syneresis or formation of liquefied vitreous. A more serious type are caused by posterior vitreous detachment…hyaloid membrane surrounding the vitreous pulls from the retina, and parts of that can cause more obstructing floaters. If the hyaloid pulls too hard, causing traction and visual flashing lights, the retina can tear. Many hundreds of dark tiny floaters can accompany this. Flashing lights, dark curtains, and loss of acuity signals possible retinal tears. These can generally be tacked down right away with a laser…a barrier is formed to prevent further tearing.

Born extremely near-sighted, I have had floaters for about 70 years. I imagine that my vitreous humor has a tendency to pull away from the retina due to the elongation of the eyeball and collect debris. Diagnosed as 'pre-diabetic', I went keto several years ago (no sugar, no bread, no corn, no rice). Other results good. I read the same article you referenced, but no follow-up publications. NO WAY would I eat pineapple (full of fructose), but I tried bromelain (3,400 mg/day) for a year with no results. I have been taking twice that (6,800 mg/day) for the last year...again with no perceptible results. Another channel suggested liquid MSM eyedrops. I have them but am not optimistic. I theorize that extended fasting resulting in autophagy might take the floaters away. I will try that next.

Eating pineapple worked quickly and very well for me. If bromelain is the reason (we dont know for sure) - then, it does not affect established structures in the eye, it only affects floaters - floaters are not part of established eye structure, and are less resistance to Bromelain at these dosage levels. Bromelain can also be purchased as a supplement.

For everyone who has eye floaters and are currently in panic: keep on reading. I first encountered floaters when I was about 19 but somehow they moved out of my field of vision, then at 27 I suddenly had a bunch of them. At that time I also had bad anxiety, stress etc and I couldn’t stop looking for the floaters that it became a daily obsession. But: I overcame it. It WILL get better! Try to find the core of where the anxiety comes from, maybe with a little more help like therapy or someone you trust to talk to. Strangely, I still have floaters but I barely notice them because I’m not scared of them anymore. The mind can be a powerful ally or your biggest enemy. If I can do it, you can do it too!

I understand that the study is not giving the correct explanations about how and why pineapple decreases floaters. But, reality is that they do decrease, and there are thousands of cases being reported everywhere...I have started eating a lot more pineapple since a couple of months, and floaters have decreased a lot. I will definitely continue eating a lot of pineapple for ever...maybe in some years it will be discovered the real reason pineapple helps, but meanwhile we know it does, and that's enough ( as Pineapple is anyway a healthy food...it would not be the same if I would have to take an specific medicine with side effects)

I had my cataract surgery about 4 years ago and soon after I started getting the blurry effects of a floater. One day while laying at the park looking up at the sky I could see the floater drift right in front of my vision. I define it like the size and shape of Prince Edward Island and it has been a source of aggravation ever since. Since I am completely blind in my other eye due to injury, this has become a huge frustration in my life. My 2 eye surgeons I have seen, the one who did my surgery and another for a second opinion seemed to completely ignore me as if I was seeing things. Which I am, seeing things and obviously they can't unless with the procedure the doctor on here suggested.

I am very near sighted and see my eye docter every year. I complain about the floaters every visit but he just shruggs it off and tell me my eyes are very healthy. I dont think he would say that if he looked through eyes like mine. few years back i went to another eye docter and they said i could have the fluid drained/filtered like you mentioned but thought it might be better until i have to have cataract surgery and do it all at same time. I have to admit, I was a little skeptical of your presentation and your own skepticism concerning pineapple helping with floater problems until I listened to your objections which do make sense. The clincher was when you spoke of being a nutritionist and proponent of natural remedies. You seem to be an eye doctor who shoots it straight. I had cataract surgeries in both eyes, and last week I had to have a YAG capsulotomy in my right eye because it had began to become so blurred that I couldn't see even with glasses from that eye. It was like trying to look through a shower glass. After the procedure, I was able to see tack sharp from my right eye for 2 days, but experienced severe hazing problems and even spots from the laser when I would look at a white or near white wall. I have been off the Prednisolone for 3 days now, and for the most part, my vision has came back to 90% of what I was seeing for 2 days post procedure. Hopefully I will get that wonderful tack sharp crispness that I enjoyed for 2 days as my eye finishes recovering, and I was told that it could take about a week for the side effects to completely disappear. Good and informative presentation here. Thank you.

I have been eating half a pineapple a day for over a year. It may have reduced a few floaters but nothing really noticeable. Im in Vietnam and still eat my pineapple every morning with some plain yogurt

I had one black floater for about two years. I gave up on that it ever again might disappear. It was pretty annoying close to the center of my view, and reading on a bright computer screen became difficult. I also read the 2019 article and tried it out. Btw, the article was talking about 1, 2, or 3 small cubes. More than that had no additional effect. My floater began to shrink and eventually disappeared. Sometimes it comes back much smaller, but I continued to eat some pineapple, and it goes away again.

@@Resist4 The liquid in the eye is not only transparent to provide optical features. It also provides nutrition, removes cellular waste, and it probably also has a connection to the immune system. The medical extreme treatment to substitute this liquid with a dead, artificial substance seems to be horrible to me. What is the progression after that, a glass eye? The 2019 article mentioned three enzymes removing these broken proteins in the eyes. Some pineapple here and then helps > me

@@jenslanger812 Hi Jens, I'm going to try pineapple from tomorrow to get rid of floaters.. could you please tell me how much slices need and when to eat? Also did u tried any other methods along with it?

@@suhail_moideen I was reading scientific articles on a white computer screen in 2019, when a big black eye floater drove me crazy. I investigated and found that the enzyme bromelain is also available in supplements. Anyway, as pineapple you would need 1/4 slice (1.5-2cm or 1/2 inch thick) per day, but the pineapple would spoil before you finish it. It is important to do that for multiple weeks, therefore a supplement might be easier. Very important, in case of diabetes, cut your carbohydrates first. And reduce high blood pressure. Good luck!

It worked for me. I can look at white background without floaters. I blend the pineapple and the skin.

I have had floaters at least since I was 8. I received a microscope for Christmas and wondered what these 'things' were moving with my eye when looking through it!!! I had eye allergies when young so rubbed my eyes often. Guess this is the reason. Still have them and just ignore them. Get my eye exam every year or two. Nice channel.

Thanks Dr. for the info. I had floaters about 10 years ago. As I do not care about them, they seem disappear.

It's amazing so many people on this thread say that pineapple is effective for them. This should be taken into account that possibly the enzymatic actions of certain fruits do help clear the collegen humors of the body
