This difference is very obvious. I always have done mine like you did in Highschool but I gonna have to try it the other way and see what I think. Not sure I have extremely round eyes but I like the way it looks.

My problem is that my eyes are more round at the lower lid. So if I follow the lower lashline, the eyeliner will just go straight up and it won'tlook good.☹️
