I was not raised to listen to other people. I listen to me. I wear what I want and I have always been a skin care woman. My makeup looks so much better on my better looking skin. I am a woman of color so I have certain makeup choices. I love color and not so much neutrals. I am 67 and have been through the color look, the neutrals (brown look) etc. No make up is really new. Just like clothing everything old is new again! I wear makeup that make me feel good and following trends is not my journey! I love your channel and I love what you do. You blend out color and make things look beautiful. Love you!💜💙💛😄

I am 67 also and I am right there with you (as a white woman). I love wearing what I want, clothing wise and make-up wise and don't care what they (whoever "they" are) say. They all think their word is "the word" and oh-so-trendy. 🙄 Like you said, everything old is new again and really, vice versa. 😊😊

I am SO relieved you are not giving up on your eyeshadow tutorials even though you don't wear eyeshadow that much anymore. I love them and I always check them out for inspiration for when I want to (re)create a pretty eyeshadow look 😊 I personally would love to see more looks with older pallets. I don’t know about anyone else but my whole life (I’m 61), has been a series of stages, in everything. Makeup, clothing, shoes, hair, jewelry, house decor, cars, etc. I might be in a muted makeup grunge dress stage for a couple years, then flip to a hippy dress bold makeup fun stage, then to a classy dress full glam makeup stage. It’s not planned. It all has to do with my age, my skin, my job, my attitude, whatever. What I was 5 years ago is not who I am now. I go with the flow and what feels comfortable at the time. I’m glad you still plan to do eyeshadow videos. They are very helpful and enjoyable.

I love eyeshadow, and I won’t listen to trends that say eyeshadow is out. “Who” is saying that? “They” are saying that? No. Nope. I don’t know who “they” are, and I’m not about to start listening to them 😂. Although, I think different scenes and different scenarios require different shadow looks, some light, some bold, and some none at all. Honestly, I have been unfollowing people who are steering away from eyeshadow tutorials. Mainly because that’s the main reason I came to KZfaq, and the main videos I love to watch. There are some KZfaqrs who used to do makeup, but are now starting to do more commentary style videos, and I don’t find myself interested in their videos anymore. Like Kelly Gooch, and Chloe Morello, they have changed their videos, and talk a lot about the industry, or other things, and I actually skip past those videos. KZfaq videos help me decide what products I want to purchase, so, I’ve been unsubscribing vlog style videos, and people veering away from makeup. That just my personal opinion 😂 🤷🏻‍♀️ Doesn’t really mean squat though hahaha 😂

Most vlogs to me are so boring. I try not to waste time watching other people on vacation, and I don’t care what’s going on in the industry. I’m here for the tutorials that are seriously lacking these days. Angelas are some of the best to me. I like Morgan Turner also but don’t watch all her reviews.

Thank you, Angela, for your wise words. I’m 63, and if wearing my eyeshadow makes me look older, so be it. I don’t care. I love it, it makes me happy. Everyone is different, and that’s a good thing. I think playing up one feature, whether it’s lips, cheeks or eyes, is really cool. You follow your heart, it knows best. ❤. I will enjoy your videos, regardless of the topic. But the eyeshadow looks will always be my favorite.

I do love making my eyes up. I always have, and I always will, but that's just me, but my personal passion is my skin care, making sure my skin is as flawless as possible and considering my age 61 in September I'm not doing to bad naturally, I personally don't believe in plastic surgery or anything like that as it really does scare me. I am 62 and only started wearing makeup about 5-6 yrs ago again. I wore it in my teens but eyeshadow was all I wore with the black eyeliner that we had to light on fire for it to work lol. I have really been into skincare the last two years and my skin has really improved a lot. I love the look you did in this video 👍🏻❤️

Oh my gosh! I remember doing that too! (Heating up my eyeliner pencils with a lighter I mean). I’m glad pencils have gotten softer and easier to use, but I won’t be following the “no eyeshadow” trend (such as it is). All I ever used was eyeshadow, too. No blush, not even foundation (gasp!). It has always been about the eyes for me. ❤️

Idk why but something is always so satisfying to me watching someone do their base products from start to finish. I’ve been doing blush on my eyes instead of shadow for years❤❤ it’s a great way to look natural and healthy without looking like you have a ton of makeup on. I’m 57 and back in my day (the 80’s) makeup was NOT like it is today and so I never really liked the feel of eyeshadow on my eyes… so I always used blush🤷‍♀️ Now, with bronzers being a thing… on my “no makeup” makeup days I do either blush or bronzer as my shadow❤❤ You look stunning btw!!

I totally vibe with this technique, I’ve been using it every day for years as I believe the glow of blush is a great foundation for any look whether eyeshadow or not. People notice skin ! I’ll always love and do drama on the eyes but also this look as well. You are spot on with this and by the way I love layering different blush types n colors too. 🎉 yes to changing things up. Thx💞

Happy birthday! I think you’re spot on that more of us just want to keep it simple and focus on “natural” features like skin, cheeks, etc. Even aside from the clean girl thing, it’s an interest in looking like you didn’t try too hard. I’m here for the fun but less dramatic looks, I hope you do end up filming some things like that. Personally - I love having a pop of color and I’d enjoy a tutorial on how to add a bit of flash to a casual look.

Just clicked on your video and I’m a lot older than you. I have been using blush and bronzer for an all over look including eyes for a very long time. It gives a youthful and natural splash of color. I prefer the natural enhancement of one’s beauty anyway. Love your video.

I actually started wearing eyeshadow more often when I started watching your videos !! I personally think that eyeshadow “ finishes” my look overall . But it’s up to the individual & just because you started your KZfaq channel around eye shadow looks & trends & such doesn’t mean you have to stick with that . You’ve got to be true to yourself & if you aren’t enjoying the content you’re creating then in my opinion, you should change it up ! I really just like seeing the different looks you come up with, eyeshadow or no eyeshadow .

I pretty much do what feels right for me at the time. I have long thought I could give a hoot about someone else’s idea of how my makeup should look. I love eyeshadow and will continue wearing it if I want and not if I don’t want. Simple as that

Trends come and go. It’s better to do the makeup that makes everyone feel more confident. If you like shadow, do it. If you like blush, do it. If it makes the you feel happy, then you’ve succeeded. Love your videos ❤

Hello Angela, it is true that as we age, makeup changes and we use less and less, we pay more attention to the complexion, the eyes are less busy or the shades are lighter but you are still young, enjoy your superb eyes to experiment with makeup. Thanks for this tutorial

Eyeshadow will never be out! There are too many colors and ways to wear eyeshadow for it to be "out". Even with a soft glam look, people still use eye shadow. It doesn't have to be bright & bold eyeshadow looks every time so the idea it's out is odd (to me at least)

I'm 37 and I started being interested in wearing eyeshadow now. Normally I would just wear a skin tint, mascara, blush, lip tint and eyeliner. I find wearing eyeshadow correctly an artristy so I will still watch your eyeshadow tutorials to keep learning. So all that to say- yes please! Keep bringing the technique videos

Hi Angela, i also recently changed my makeup routine, more about the fact that i am in my late thirty's and fine lines are showing. I had a difficult time finding advice on the internet about changing your makeup routine as you go older, but i am glad that i did. You are right when you said that the younger generation somehow get in our minds and tell us what to do when you are a certain age, and i am against it. I stil choose a more natural makeup look, as i always did. and adding a few tips i found on the internet if i like them, but you decide what you do and no one else. Beside, Beauty has no age, and it will never have a age.

I’m never giving up eyeshadow- at 67, I need to define a crease to cover up hooded eyes. I like a natural look for everyday and just add a little bronzer in my crease.

I would love to see tutorials with softer eye looks. I too find i am using bronzer as eyeshadow and topping with a shimmer. I’m getting a bit bored with that approach though, so would love new ideas for soft looks!

I’m a little late to this party. I love my eyeshadow, but I am very light-handed with it. I am SÚPER pale and am a little nervous using blush. I use it, but I am light-handed with it because I don’t want to create an obvious line/cast. I’m working on blending, blending, blending. 🖌️ Thanks for another terrific video! I live for eyeshadow !! That and foundations are my weaknesses although i do prefer a natural finish light foundation. I only own 2 blushes 🤣🤣

Eyeshadow has been my favourite part of makep and still is but my preference has changed from bold colorful looks to more soft and nuetral looks. I dont think i have been influenced by trends but im approaching my 40s and what i liked in my 20s and early 30s has changed

In my younger days I used to wear my blush on my cheeks and eyes, a little mascara and was out the door in less than 5 minutes. This was back in the 80s. Nowadays can't get away with that look and need extra depth to the eyes and would look ridiculous wearing tiktok blush. I'll continue with what I'm using now with a lighter peach/pink blush and a little bolder eye. Keep up the beautiful eye looks Angela. I hope you do another look with your lovely mom soon!

I’ve got through the same process. I used to love colorful more dramatic eeyshadows, but as time goes by I changed my perspective and started to do really simple eyelooks, mostly neutrals, and I tend to watch tutorials thay are this style, I don’t even use dark shadows, just mid to light ones and one pop of shimmer and that’s good.

Nowadays some trends last only a few weeks. I've always loved eyeshadow. I don't use it daily, but it completes looks and makes them special. A pop of colour, a nice shimmer, a duochrome... Something as simple as applying eyeshadow can even change my mood (for the better). So, I'll always be an eyeshadow fan
