Dvir and Maya Rosenfeld are residents of Kfar Aza and experienced the savagery, barbarism, and terror of the October 7th attacks firsthand from their house’s bomb shelter. For over 24-hours, they kept their 11-month old baby from crying and exposing their location, while they tried to figure what exactly was happening, who from their family and friends were still alive, and which information to trust.
They’d soon be the aunt and uncle to orphaned twins, friends of hostages and victims, and among the fortunate few to make it out of their homes alive. They are now unlikely spokespeople for the kidnapped who sadly have no voice.
If you’re feeling exhausted of hearing accounts of October 7th, you aren’t alone. But at a time when the events of the attacks are being questioned, it’s never been more important to document the loss of life and humanity at the hands of Hamas.
This their story.
