Many international Jews like myself like the Idea of Israel as a homeland for the Jewish people but strongly disagree with its policies and how it goes about its business with its neighbors. Most of my Jewish friends to which most are reformed or conservative believe in a two state solution and strongly disagree with the illegal settlements in the West Bank because it contradicts any intent or desire to have a two state solution and screams that Israel could care less about making lasting peace with the Palestinians. I know it doesn’t mean much coming from some bum ass American, but not every Jewish person around the world loves and supports everything Israel does blindly.

I think she should know. My mom spent the first 15 years of her life in that war, and I always wondered why she was such an anxious, skittish,codependent wreck of a person. It wasn't until I was way older and learned about the horrors committed during that war that I understood why mama was like that.
