I remember listening to this song when I was little, while Mama played it on the stereo console, and she forced me to dance with her. It brings me so many beautiful memories of a time gone by. I just love this song, is so romantic, and melodic! too bad nobody makes music like that anymore!

One of the most romantic scenes of all time! Troy was a huge Star at WB. Natalie Wood refused the role that Suzy Pleshette inherited. Rome Adventure was a huge hit. Troy and Suzanne married with-- WB hosting the reception! The marriage failed but Suzanne and Troy remained friends until Troy's death.

My parents visited me in Europe while I was in school . We watched as my dad sang this to my French mother at the Lake . Not a dry eye in the house. Everyday I remember that 💕 Thank you Troy Donahue and Susanne Pleshette fir the joy of love !

I never forgot this song. Followig our high school senior prom, the school arranged to have a local theater screen Rome Adventure for us. My date that night turned out to be the love of my life. I'm now 80 and I still love that girl and that movie.

They were such a beautiful couple. Troy Donahue’s life ended so tragic, I don’t understand what happens. He wasn’t the best actor, but certainly not the worst. He had a charm about him. I’m sorry they’re both gone. Suzanne was a wonderful actress and beautiful.

Yes I was in my teens then, and now I`m in my seventies, but they were easier times back then. A beautiful song, and two beautiful actors. Troy and Suzanne had wonderful chemistry and were surpassed only by Troy and Connie (Stevens) from the Parrish and Susan Slade movie offerings of the same era. Great memories all!

I saw this awesome movie in my youth with the most awesome Man, Louis O'Reilly! It was the most unforgettable night in my whole life..he was also blond with the most beautiful Blue eyes! I'll never forget him or the movie, my favourite Actors, Troy & Suzanne and the Song!! AL DI LA!

I love the adventure of this movie and the song is wonderful. Every time I see Suzanne I think "Emily" (huge Bob Newhart Show fan). As romantic as she and Troy were in this scene, I recall how short their marriage was. I also remember he made movie after movie for Warner Brothers plus TV series Surfside Six and Hawaiian Eye (my favorite) and records. They left us much too enjoy in our later years. Bless them. In fond remembrance.

Suzanne Pleshette...saw her in traffic years ago when my brother and I were driving down Santa Monica Blvd. near The Troubadour...a beautiful woman. Loved her in Hitchcock's "The Birds." Troy Donahue was a sincere actor who was probably better than he was given credit. Of course we all remember him from the television series "Surf Side Six."

Never seen the movie but grew up listening to my parents play Jerry Vale so Al DiLa is familiar! I’ll have to watch the movie. I’m a fan of GOOD movies. I grew up in the 80’s and good movies and music are hard to come by.

My classmate at Berry College, Edumundo Vargas, from Panama, sang this song in a talent show in 1963ish. In my retirement, I was motivated to study Italian so that I would be able to understand and sing this particular song.

Lynn you have it right! I can't figure the young folk who settle for being called someone's Bitch, etc. I know they all want a ring, a veil, and a song of love to share. Maybe that is why their marriages fail? I married my Italian who writes classical music for me. We will pass together I hope.

Troy and Suzanne...too bad it didn't last...they were only married for about 1 year...I can understand falling in love in such a romantic place like Rome with a gorgeous man like Troy....the scenery in this film was absolutely beautiful, and so was this song...always LOVED it ~~

I think that I read that it was due to Troy's alcohol that the marriage ended. Still, I appreciate all of the work that he did. I loved Suzanne; she was top notch. The song really takes me back. I hope that you are doing well.

A decent movie, and this is the best scene in that movie. In fact, it's a flawless scene. Pleshette looks like a young Elizabeth Taylor and Donahue looks and sounds like a young Alan Ladd. Pleshette had more range than Donahue and would find success on television, while Donahue went nowhere. The song itself was an instant standard and this cover by Emilio Pericoli is my favorite of all the covers ever done. Actually, there is a slightly better cover done by Pericoli himself where he sings the last line in English. I believe it's that version, not the movie version that became a big hit in the 1960s.

and my impossible dream came true ..1962 .. saw this incredible movie.. it has remained in my memory the story, the music.. AlDiLa.. and in 1985 found myself in Stressa on Lago Maggiore at Hotel la Palma .. who would have ever thought..
