Ja, ja, die 104 dies lernte ich noch in Westerland im Sommer 1989 auf dem Flugplatz kennen, die Fliegerlehrgruppe, dort war auch noch die Grund-Ausbildung für MFG I, II und III, auch die Ausbildung für den Seeaufklärer "Breguet" fand dort statt. Von 01.05.1989 bis 01.07.1989, dann ins MFG II bis 31.08.1989 und dann nach Kaufbeuren zur II. TSDL als BEFA für den Tornado. Was für eine geile Zeit! Ab 93 dann war es nur noch Gewürge bei der Truppe.

Great Video. I worked on the Italian F-104S Starfighter Seat. The type was Martin Baker IQ-7A.

Ah! Yes! The F-104G Starfighter! It got a well deserved reputation in West Germany as the Widow-maker.

@@twentyrothmans7308 Yep, the Luftwaffe/Marine had many problems in the first years but most problems were solved which resulted in a lower crash rate. Also Germany had not the highest los rate, Canada lost nearly half of its CF-104 Fleet. the hottest F-104G i ever saw was a Dutch one , the Plane was painted complete light Grey and came in at treetop level and passed my position in an TRA at 50m , then a dutch F-5A followed , it was breathtaking

I think it was because the German 'top brass' added roles to F-104 it was not really intended for... nevertheless, a very nicely shaped aircraft, still, in 2019...

@@SteelHorseRider74 There were alot of reasons it was surrounded by issues. And yours was one of the big ones. In every F104 video there's always someone that brings up the widow maker. Implying it was all the Jets fault which it was not.

Why could not we see DOWNWARD ejection? I think that only the F-104 had that option.

The Martin-Baker Mk-7 seat was definitely superior to the crap seats that Lockheed designed and built for it.

...yes but if you read elsewhere, you'll find out that the fitting on the 104 was poorly done, the pilot sat further forward and many died during ejection. It's one of the reasons of the losses, you die when you pull the handle or you die when you hit. Many pilots elected to try to land for fear of the ejection.

Das Vorgängermodell kostet vielen Piloten das Leben, weil nach der Trennung vom Sitz der Pilot zuerst nach unter flog und der Sitz ihm später auf den Kopf flog.

Die heutigen modernen Schleudersitze reagieren noch schneller und wie ich erfahren habe, haben die Russen den modernsten Sitz weltweit. Der Zwestja löst auch vollautomatisch aus , sollte der Pilot zB. bewusstlos sein und der Schleudersitz die Notsituation erkennt.

Viel fehleranfälliger hätte man es mit den ganzen Sicherungsstiften und Hebeln auch echt nicht gestalten können. 😂

Why was this recommended to me when I live in the United States and although I took a German class for a semester in 9th grade I'm not exactly what I would call fluent in the language. I mean I know all kinds of stuff about the f-104 Starfighter. I know it was junk and it killed lots and lots and lots of pilots because it was pretty much a missile with a guy in it. Everything was fine as long as you didn't try to land it That's the problem. Have fun!

Und trotzdem kamen 116 Piloten bei dem Sargnagel ums Leben. Bin ja mal gespannt wieviele Piloten bei dem Lockheed Martin F 35 Krüppel dann ums Leben kommen. Ist in etwa der gleiche unausgereifte Flieger wie damals die F 104.

Quatsch mit Soße .Er wurde von Jahr zu Jahr verbessert .Und die Piloten liebten ihn zu fliegen .Musste man auch können .Der schönste Vogel der Welt 💕.Und sowas nennt man auch Berufsrisiko .
