On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

Ok, so hear me out: I like the bandit unknown series. What if, to make it even more interesting, you had a pair of each aircraft? So you and a wingman in the same aircraft against two other players in the same aircraft. I think that would be very interesting and would really level the playing field since you can never sit on the six o'clock of two bandits in a dogfight (unless they're asleep).

That viper duel was a frickin' master piece! Question: Do you pull the inside or outside AB on the thrust trick? When I see the external cam it looks a little confusing.
@baomao7243
@baomao7243 Жыл бұрын
I thought you turn off the inside-of-the-turn AB, so the additional AB thrust of the “outside” engine (vs the inside engine) yaws the nose toward the inside of the turn.
@ajax4-690
@ajax4-690 Жыл бұрын
@Benny B If you want to do a left roll you'll pull the left AB as the right AB will push the aircraft left using leverage due to the f-14A having a wide spacing between the engines So in theory you want to pull the inside engine AB to roll over quicker

This whole differential thrust schtick is way overhyped. This isn’t a real thing. The overwhelming odds of going into a flat spin would prevent you from even doing this in a real aircraft. This is not how it’s designed to be flown and would lead to significant problems. This is a “maverick” move from a Hollywood movie that may have been initially thought up by a jet fighter consultant, doesn’t mean it’s a real thing or used practically at all.

I agree, a stealth Tomcat would have been awesome! With jets, the paint job/color scheme is called a "livery", it harkens to the colors knights and jockeys wore/wear while jousting/horse racing. Little fun fact, not a dig. Love the convos with GS fans!

Another good move to try is what Tomcat pilot Hoser liked to use and was called his famous "Vorboschka" - nose hard up then stick full forward and into the corner, rudder full opposite. I read this in the same book they talk about splitting the thrust. He would use this when a bandit was behind him. He did this to a guy in the F-5 who he let start 1500 feet behind him on his six and then this stopped his Tomcat mid air and the F-5 over shot him and he gunned him as he slipped in front of the Tomcat. This was when both pilots where in Topgun and AIM/ACE heavily if I recall the F-5 pilot was a Topgun staff member at the time and they where practicing ACM. Really good quotes and snippets from pilots of the Tomcat and others around it, kinda amazing some of the things it could do according to the pilots and people who got to practice ACM against one. They also talk about filming the Top Gun movie, turns out the last Mig pilot shot down in the movie was a Rear Admiral in the F-5 having some fun.

I like the bandit unknown series, however there could be a twist. Start from WW1 era planes and work up your way. Each time a person dies, they switch to the next era and pick a plane from there. Would allow for some funny moments, as technically if you dont die you could end up fighting against an F22 in a Biplane.

I dont know why guys go into the vertical like the F/A-18 fight. No reversal cues, just dumped his energy and was a sitting duck. For offset two circles (like the F/A-18 should have done and you did to some degree against the F-16) lowering the nose and blowing out your turn until you see them come around to 2/3 of your circle to gain energy and then tighten down before their nose comes around to force another merge where you can get back into a one circle. Energy management is key. Speed is life.

You've done it once before but I am now asking for Battle of the Canards II: A 4-way fight between the Eurofighter Typhoon, Dassault Rafale, JAS39 Gripen, and SU30SM Flanker-H. May the best 'nard win.

Such an Awesome video. And a great fight with the F-16. I would love to see a fight between an F6F Hellcat vs P-51 D to see who is the king of the warbirds.
