Awesome! If I had a newer truck I’d definitely buy this. I recently changed the trans filter n ATF in my 13 XLT and I added a universal drain plug to the pan which costs about $8.

use a $5 harbor freight hand pump to get most of the fluid out of the pan before dropping it. common sense. little to no mess.

I was like yeah this will be nice. I won’t have to get fluid all over me when I do fluid changes then I clicked on the link 433 bucks! That’s to much for me just to gain a drain plug

RockAuto has OEM style with drain plug for around $30, just did mine along with flush and filter.

I noticed this truck has no catalytic converters on it. That makes checking the fluid at operating temp so much easier. Lol

Any thoughts on just drilling a hole in the old pan so it can drain? Since you're replacing it anyway.

I reused the factory hex bolts. The rear bolts are just a little tricky to get to. I felt my tools had better access to hex bolts vs allen head bolts. Allen heads can strip easily too; especially using ball end wrenches. Instead of using socket universal joint, try using a 8 mm swivel socket or a wobble extension on your 8 mm socket. I also suggest using ¼" drive due to its smaller diameter. These suggestions only apply to the rearward bolts. The rest are totally accessible.

guys that is a bad ass pan I really like that but if it was me I would also try to show everyone the B&M dipstick installation because that’s one fault about that truck. i’m just saying

I installed the dealership gasket and still drips, do you have any suggestions? It’s for 98 f150 4.6 , the pan doesn’t look beat up

Wrap foil around the exhaust pipe and make a tail so ATF drains into your drain pan, not cover the exhaust pipe.

So how do you know that filter isn’t sitting at the bottom of that sump? It’s fine with the stock pan because there’s no room for it to fall.

The 4 large pillars in the middle of the pan prevent it from falling down.

Can I use the OEM bolts all around, instead of the supplied bolts to attach the pan? I don't want the Allen head bolts to get stripped over time. Also, did you guys use the metal, factory gasket; or did you use an aftermarket gasket, like Fel-Pro?

you have to use the supplied bolts since the pan is thicker and we used the factory gasket.

Does this aftermarket pan have an extended pickup tube like the AFE version to get to the bottom of the deeper pan?

You skipped the fitment of the pan gasket. Did you use a gasket...sealant...?

The gasket from the factory is reusable, just wipe it down gently, and reinstall.

If replacing the pan anyway why not just drill a drain hole into the pan you are replacing? A lot less mess.

or use a pump to mostly empty it first. Why nobody on any of these F150 fluid change videos doesn't do this. smh
