On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

THRUSTMASTER VIPER TQS : www.thrustmaster.com/products/viper-tqs-mission-pack/ I can already foresee some people wondering what about the F-16 makes it such a good 2 circle fighter and what goes into making an aircraft a good 1 circle or 2 circle fighter. Generally speaking it comes down to the aerodynamic design of the fighter, and what the aircraft was designed to do and how the engineers designed it, so for example fighters that have good 1 circle performance will usually have leading edge extensions that come out from the wing roots, (f-18 hornet would be an example of this) they might have larger delta wing designs (Mirage) sometimes they have wide flat bodies to generate more lift. fighters that are 2 circle fighters will have the ability to sustain high Gs, maybe they recline the seat back for the pilot to take more Gs like the F-16, also like the F-16 the position of the wings and location of the engine can help increase or decrease drag in the case of the F-16 The air intake was placed so it was rearward of the nose but forward enough to minimize air flow losses and reduce aerodynamic drag which would be important for an aircraft that is maybe designed to "rate" rather than "radius" fight as it needs less drag because it wants to hold onto its speed during high G maneuvers....it all comes down to HOW the aircraft is designed/its purpose and the aerodynamic designs that go into it. Thank you guys for watching and if you have any ideas for future videos please put them in the comment section below and they might just end up in the pipeline, thanks again, much Love.

It’s just insane to me how these fighters move in the air, especially the 5th gens. Like, the F-22 is bigger than a semi truck, yet can maneuver like a ballerina or giant leaf in the skies. The sheer amount of power and thrust, and aerodynamics of these machines is absolutely staggering.

The avionics that goes into them is crazy. On something like an F-16, pulling the stick moves the control surfaces. On a 5th gen, pulling the stick is an instruction to tilt the aircraft, and it's up to the avionics computer to figure out how to make that happen.

@michaelold6695

Generally speaking they have a “hard deck” which is typically an altitude which they consider the be the ground, but allows them room to either exit the fight and/or not crash and recover from a stall if the pilot misjudges his manoeuvres so they can practice “proper” dog fighting with a good degree of safety
@Danlovestrivium
@Danlovestrivium 8 ай бұрын
@@michaelold6695 Years ago, we had an A model F-16 that had modifications done to it's flight controls so that it could enter into a flat spin easier than a regular C model. Once the jet was in the spin, it allowed for the pilots to attempt to maneuver the aircraft out of the flat spin for practice by using the manual override button and basic stick inputs. If all of these failed to recover the aircraft, it also has a drogue chute that could be deployed at the rear of the jet in order point the nose downward to escape the spin. It was only deployed when the escape had failed and they were below the minimum altitude of the exercise, which I believe was 15k feet. Not sure why I'm telling you this other than that I thought it was a cool story and it popped into my mind when you brought up the hard deck altitude. lol

I remember reading in an article that the F-16 and the F-22 are equal in a two circle up until they hit the deck and the thrust of the F-22 pulls it ahead.
@GrowlingSidewinder
@GrowlingSidewinder 8 ай бұрын
I would imagine that is all speculation, as nothing about the real performance of the F-22 is known. I've only ever heard it spoken about very "vaguely" - ever seen 1 real pilot confirm its better or worse than F-16, not one EM diagram nothing. But yes, I've heard it's SLIGHTLY better in the 2 circle...but I've also heard the F-16 is SLIGHTLY better. Whos to know until we get a declassified F-22 EM diagram.

Heartily agree. I was using a Thrust Master in Jane's WWII fighter sim in the late 90s. Love the precision, and that tight well defined dead zone. Things were nice and simple, but Thrust Master had a square, as opposed to a circular control stick movement. This was great, as it allowed more simultaneous roll and pitch combination back in those days, and hitting that corner was a great reference point. Thrust Master could also take the abuse. Unlike you (GS), I'm a cave man at the controls.

Maybe it's the thrustmaster, but your maneuvers, entering, exiting turns are much smoother.

Bruh, the throttle sure as hell isn't going to make his maneuvers smoother.

The Raptor wasn't having none of that! Yes pilot skill is very crucial, so are the jets! F-16 rocks! F-22 dominates.

Here's something that popped in my head. Can you use VR or some other type of gadget like that with these games?

Yes, you can. Supposedly it's amazing, although I haven't tried it myself.

Apparently the f35 can shoot missiles at targets behind it so that would be interesting.

GS, a dogfight I'd love to see you do is MiG-15 Fagot vs MiG-17 Fresco. See if you can defeat the latter with the former.

Could you fly the F35 sometime? I've always seen you fly against it. Even some stealthy ground ops would be cool.

He hates the F-35 and constantly spreads misinformation about it. Fat chance in hell

Good fights I think the f-22 match was just un lucky. you definitely had the fight a multiple points, two things to remember the F-16 can still out accelerate the f-22 so if your going to ditch high AOA do a half g push and get that jet moving before trying to our rate again. and second the F-35C does not have an internal gun. its removed for the AAR Probed. anyways Cheers mate GL and keep with the good content.
