First game doesn't count cause game was over. I was flying straight at him hoping my mavs would have time to reach him. If the game was still going I would never have done something like that so before you comment about title/thumbnail read this.
Is it as good as the Barak II, well of course but I would argue that it is better at killing SAMs and light vehicles because that is what mav's do best and the addition of a targeting pod helps with that so much because you can rifle several mavs without having to reset the view and scan more area with great thermals to find targets.
The issue I run into is when I have to support my team and kill mbt's where the real drawbacks with at least the loadout I was using is that mav's are just not the most reliable in killing or even critically damaging them because of how they aim at centermass no matter where they are coming from. And you have 2 2000lb LGBs to at least delete 2 of them for certain with but that is less than the Barak II can do with more efficiency. And since the inner pylons on the 16C can only carry GBU-24s or dumb bombs I guess it is up to you if you wanna run something else. And of course you are probably uptiering yourself to 12.3 to play CAS. So running this always is prob not worth it if you just wanna play tanks. But it is up to you.

*IMPORTANT* I would need to inform you that of this video how the 16C and other planes with TGPs work. If you have both TV guided and Laserguided weapons it will switch to TV when you switch view before TGP. If the TV camera cannot see where the TGP is already looking/locked it will move the TGP interest point cause you to miss if your LGB is in the air and still has some distance to go. So be aware of this. So you either have to spend the entire drop in 3rd person or in the TGP view. But if you first lock a target in TGP and then switch to 3rd person it works fine. But do not switch to TV unless you are diving at the target because otherwise the TV view will grief you. But it seems like gaijin has added specific keybinds for entering TGP or TV so I just need to get used to that.

You can make a key adjustment, to use only the TGP and 3rd view, it is more comfortable this way

@@sonof2tards in camera control change "External view" and "targeting optic view" to a only one key, for example just "V", so the plane gona have just 2 types of camera view

I've been waiting for this. Also do you know the targeting pod slaving to the helmet is intended? Irl it could do this as well as slave the radar, but ingame it only mentions IR slaving.

It could slave the radar in ACM/Boresight mode, but for ccip a2a gunnery and ranging calculations. Not BVR

Can you share your targeting control scheme? Mine is relatively quick to use, but not nearly *this* fast when switching targets. I don't have enough buttons in reachable spots to run all the binds lol

Uh, I run sight stabilization on my right mouse button and delete target point on numpad 3 so I can quickly delete it if needed. Basically I can just point my mouse and spam it until it locks what I need it to lock.

The F-16C can only carry GBU-24s on the inner pylons. Only dumb bombs otherwise.

This video pisses me off because LOOK. Look what you can do when there isn’t a SPAA as soon as the match starts. I can’t even get time to look at the field with the pod before a missile is already coming at me. I want to have fun playing CAS but there’s just too many SPAA. And then in your video there was only one and you were able to spot him as he was shooting at someone else. It’s bullshit man I want to do that too. Also fun note. The aim-9M reliably ignores heli flares. So if you don’t want to use a Maverick a sidewinder will make contact with the heli. It will also lock up pretty easily. But only at a closer range.

We need pure tank gamemode. Most of the games transform into Air battles, and tanks are just free kills... CAS is a cancer that don't even require that much skill.

CAS is way to oppressive for how cheap it is spawn. And it really is not that hard to use it well if you just learn keybinds and use good aircraft for it. So I agree with you tbh.
