My uncle use to talk about this old F 14 Pilot that would help out the maintance crew during down time. His call sign was Crow but i forget how he got it. He said that was one of the only pilots he's ever seen that did that. The guy told him " Cant really call a car yours if you dont know how to take care of her". Always thought that was pretty cool.

I would imagine that no matter how many times a pilot does this, his heart is pounding out of their chest. Getting shit of the deck of an aircraft carrier is something only .000000000000000000000001% of people will ever get to experience. And that makes me sad 😞

As a retired Marine, I say the best pilots are in the US Naval arsenal. It's a gift to be able to land on an aircraft carrier/floating football field in the middle of the ocean, if you don't believe me, try it. More than a few nuggets in training have trapped on a carrier in flight school only to realize they didn't have what it took to do it on a regular basis, and when on to fly other aircraft that didn't require a tailhook!!!🤔
