The US Navy's F/A-18F Super Hornet Demonstration Team from VFA-106 "Gladiators" performs on Sunday at the 2023 Cleveland National Airshow in Cleveland, OH.

I'm always amazed at shows like this demonstrating extreme levels of humans " flying " but I also wonder what Orrville and Wilbur would have thought if they were at a show like this.

I'm curious to know why they are using a two-seat aircraft for the demo. Usually, two-seat aircraft(F/A-18) are used as training aircraft.

The F model is deployed on US aircraft carriers along with the E model. The back seater in the F is the weapons system officer or WSO for short.
