and this with only so few thruster. will be easier to hover if use 2 .1 for main and 1 for hover although it beats the purpose of real Lightning

Instant subscription! Nobody thinks it is easy, Harrier in real life is pretty troubled, and vtol in military was never easy or very successful, with lots of crashes. But I think it is future for aviation and it is grate that you are doing this!

it took me almost 7 years to get is stable as it is today. it is hard and most people just see a simple hover, but it is more than that😉

That is stable, I have flown RC Heli that size inside a small space before, and the constant downwash/airflow from the model itself bounces off the floor and then rolls up off every wall and causing a good deal of buffeting from all directions.

What a tremendous achievement. !! Beautiful workmanship, design and engineering. Incredible to see it hover using true to the full size thrust vectoring. Although if you put in some roll stabilization “mini-thrusters” I’m sure no one would or should complain. 👍🏽 Tremendous work. The transition to wing flight will be I’m sure a challenge but so satisfying when completed. Best of luck.

Adding wing weight mockups will make it more stable as now it lacks roll inertia ,anyway the nice controller tunning overcomes these .Love it :))

Man that's so awesome. I think what would be even cooler is to have the mechanics work just like the f-35. Like have one turbine drive the other fan through a shaft that would be amazing.

Great accomplishment! Just a suggestion, since you have power to spare, you could fill the tires with a liquid. This would help with stability and more realistic motions (pendulum effect)

Possibly might help. However, that "power to spare" might not still be available once the thing is completed. He still has to deal with the weight of wings and fuselage, the tail assembly, the hatches over the intakes, and associated hardware, servos, etc., that is going to use up the power he's displaying right now. I really want to see it when it's finished. Great work!

I think it would be better to be doing these adjustments outside in cleaner air rather than in those confined spaces where you're generating your own turbulence. Keep up the good work!

Were you aware of prof Watson's F35 VTOL attempt? Probs his webpage down now. This was pre mainstream large lipo packs, he was going to use nicad cells.

Edit it was Doc Watson. I was on web chat with him on the forums many years ago when he ramped up the lift fan motor to do a gyro test. Think he had problems, possibly the magic smoke got let out of the ESC.
