I was deployed to CADJ around that same time, Covid protocols really sucked to deal with on top of the normal deployment work up and everything else

Great interview 💯 it’s amazing to see how far planes have come to landing on a carrier to needing a giant net to catch the plane to just a “like a spaceship” hover landing with a few pushes of a button, really awesome 🤩. And thank you for your service 🇺🇸

Would be interesting to hear the USMC view on the RN carriers especially after the deployment of VMFA-211 on HMS Queen Elizabeth for several months apart from the obvious "even the junior ranks got beer every day", not only the operational side but accomodation, food and welfare facility's

Hope you can get the pilot from the recent events to tell his account. Everyone is shitting on him for ejecting due to weather, without knowing the facts.

Audio-only listener here. The podcast is great and I know you need ads to help pay the bills, but it's really obnoxious having a guest in mid-sentence be interrupted with an ad for Spotify and then some stupid casino ad. Please be a little more judicious in where these are inserted.

@@AfterburnPodcast Hi, yes, it's in this episode and the past few ones. I don't have an exact timestamp, but I think the first one happens in the first 20 minutes or so and the second one around the 45-minute mark

@@lwallace79fairly often the hosting service inputs ads regardless of whether or not the video owner said to, YT's been known to do it as well for some time, even on vids that the poster can't make money on
