I was lucky enough to do this whilst posted to 3SQN in late 80s early 90s. started with a vertical take off full afterburner, touch and go landing, through the sound barrier and a final landing. absolutely awesome.

Years ago I had an F 111 fly right over my boat while offshore in that area . I was told that they often used a random boat as a target during training . Scared the sh... out of me as it came from behind so no notice until the sudden engine scream overhead !!

Nobby looks amazing from air. I once saw about five F-35 looking (can't say for sure) aircrafts lining up for landing.. watching those lean and mean machines gracefully taking left turn in formation was just amazing.

The name Williamtown and this videdo made me think of something concerning Williamsburg, Virginia, that always makes me smile and I should share it. The chairman of the corp my father was president of was a former Marine pilot. One of the company planes was a Hawker and, whenever he traveled on it, he would always insist on flying it, even though the Board frowned on that. Well, they were coming back from an event in Virginia and, as he was taking off from the Williamsburg airport and creamed a duck as he was lifting off! What a mess, duck smeared all over the side of the Hawker. Later the board awarded the chair with a little flying duck statue in honor of his deed. I always got a kick out of that and it was what motivated me to learn to fly myself!

As Young immigrant girl, I was not born in Australia, I grew up there. . I wanted to be a fighter pilot. But there was no chance or oppertunity for women to be RAAF fighter pilots. So I received a scholarship to the University of Michighan. I moved to the United States when i was 17. I Enlisted in the US Navy reserves. I served 4 years as a Surface warfare Specialist. After i received my American citizenship and my bachelors degree. I enlisted for another 4 years as a E-5 my rate was a Intel specialists.. At 26 years old and a E-7 I decided to apply for OTCN. Officer Training Command Newport RI.. After that i applied to be a Naval Aviator. I initially trained in T34C,T45. I flew F18C's and F18E's for 25 years. I retired as a O-5 April 2021. In the tours I served in Afghanistan i never saw RAAF F18s there at all. I saw RAAF C17, C130'S. I realy dont see the point why Auatralia has F35s and F18s. Since they never deploy them into any conflict...
