You know, I've been modeling and painting for most of my life, but I have never been able to hack apart a model with such confidence, let alone put it back together BETTER than it was before. That's so damned impressive.

I worked on these for 6 years. Good job. Just know that when the jet is running while wings are folded everything is straight. Only time they are bent is when the engines aren't running since no hydraulics are not going to them.

I think the best thing you can, and you do it very well, is share the techniques you've learned and developed as a builder. You're very talented and simply by sharing these builds, you're doing a great service to the modeling community. Thank you, David, on behalf of all modelers.

This takes "model making" to a whole new level.👌 It seems you're limited only by your imagination and, using this method, you can build any version of a machine. I suppose the next logical step is to away with any kind of model to start with and just build from scratch with photographs and a vast supply of styrene components. It's certainly fun to watch, even if it leaves me feeling somewhat inadequate. Wonderful work David.👍 Cheers for now, Dougie.

I just finished watching the 40 minute one he did on this plane and just realized something...I'm REALLY surprised, with his unbelievable eye for detail, that he missed ONE thing that you'll very often see with parked F-18s...one exhaust nozzle is usually open more than the other. IIRC, the starboard one is often much more open than the port. I have no clue why this is, but I've seen it in dozens of photos and in person at airshow static displays. That would've been very interesting to see how he would do that detail. This one, though, with the flaps, slats, rudders, and wing-fold is MIND-BLOWING. What a gift Plasmo has. I just discovered him and his videos today, by accident. And, I have ALREADY learned more techniques, solutions, and ideas in the three videos I've watched so far than I have in the past 47 years of modeling COMBINED!

The person who designed this at Academy was probably very proud of their low part count and ease of assembly. Then here comes Plasmo, cutting it into pieces! But to be fair, you did a very good job, thank you for the video!

Can’t ever get enough of Mr Damek’s content, never seems to be afraid of tackling the most complex of conversions which make a run of the mill model, a masterpiece. I wonder David if you would accept a challenge to modify a civil airliner, say a 1/144 Boeing 747 in a landing configuration, full flap deployment with wheels hanging free just prior to touchdown. It’s a very complex arrangement, but I’m certain you would work a solution.

*Hey Plasmo*, I am anticipating that at some time in the near future you will not bother getting a plastic kit to construct a model with anymore - you will just simply make the whole damn thing yourself from a sheet of plastic, some modeling putty, a few pieces of wire, a few rubber bands and some plastic glue ! With your amazing skills, the model would probably turn out better than any commercially produce kit could ever be. Amazing work David, truly amazing.

I do prefer the JLC saw & it's blades. It's magic in your mits, precise cuts and panel line repairs. But you are correct, the blades do easily break. This scale I don't touch, not that it's too small. I just don't like it. Great job on this kit, you really added a bunch of detail with precise cutting and attention to real detail. Nice work on the wing tip fold actuator. Casting also! Good stuff David!

Great channel and great work. Always waiting for new releases. Recently, my wife gave me a present F-18 1/72. I will collect it as it is out of the box just for collection. But the work here is amazing. I especially like the information content of the channel. The tool, the thickness of the plastic, the brand and the marking of the paint, chemistry are always indicated ... There is always a lot of new and useful information for modelers. It helps me to make purchases of exactly what is needed in stores. Thank you.
