Брависсимо!!!!! Очень тонкая интерпретация этюдов Шопена,не говоря уже о виртуозной технике исполнителя.Исполнить 24 этюда Шопена на таком высоком уровне-это подвиг,доступный далеко не каждому пианисту! Благодарю Вас за талант и титанический труд!!!

Check Vyacheslav Gryaznov’s interpretation. Go to his channel and find his Chopin Etudes. He played on that same stage and piano about two years after this gentlemen here I believe. See what you think of that one if you choose to find it.

yes, that recording is immaculate, but in live, i doubt Pollini can emulate the same perfection. his many live recordings of chopin etudes appear to have the same errors in the same passages, and i doubt that recording is achieved with the help of studio editing, of course, there's nothing wrong editing out errors, but maybe with such understanding, we may have to realize that, one should never judge a live performance by the standard of a studio recording

Bravo! Wonderful performance! Full of elegance, nuance, exquisite phrasing, they breathe, reasonable tempos, gentle, poetic and powerful, very Chopin-esque. He drew me in... I would have not listened all the way through to many of the current pianists playing these etudes. Many pianists play the Chopin Etudes like Liszt or Rachmaninoff.

@@piercekozlowskiI just did hear Gryaznov but it sounds too non legato - maybe it is the recording ? Lukas's playing comes across as more sweeping with long lines and softer , more rounded forte. I have to mention I didn't hear all Gryaznov studies.

@@mackiceicukice Looking back, I’m not sure why I mentioned Gryaznov with ellipses other than to draw a comparison. I see your point about Luka. For me, Gryaznov was unusually consistent in his method, had profound control of tempo and dynamics, was superbly articulated, had a surgical command of the pedal throughout, and still maintained powerful artistic expressiveness. Luka too, but to a more subtle degree. Personally, it’s my favorite rendition of Chopin and having heard almost all of Gryaznov’s performances and one in person, the over articulation is sound editing after the fact.

Lukas Geniusas was 19 (2010) on this video of Op.25 and Op. 10. Chopin Etudes. Now,(2013) he has videos of the Rachmaninoff Preludes, mostly Op. 32 and Op.23 on KZfaq. Notated in Russian, they are worth the search...brown suit and profile.

Op. 10 no.1 was fantastic (as were all of them), but I loved that he didn't just rush through it, as so many (including myself) have done.

I can play the Op 10 no.4 and winter wind but I have no idea how this guy memorizes all the orders of the songs + all the dynamics, rhythms, notes that are worth of a FULL HOUR OF PLAYING and nonstop...

Extraordinary versatility and range of pianistic skills They equip him to carry us from the exuberant - almost riotously - joyful, through the flutter of butterfly wings and the shimmer of light on water to the tenderly soulful and contemplative. Such exquisite touch and artistry and unqualified mastery of the etudes is a rare treasure. And what an amazing musical lineage! Small wonder that music flows from him! Thank you Lukas.

this guy plays these etudes in their most unadulterated, purest way, unsentimental, authentic, while still retains creativity. if you know the etudes inside out you'd appreciate his unflattering treatment of them.

these etudes and Chopin are very overrated! recordings of other books of etudes of other composers must be made, for example the Etudes of Op.365, Op.399,756,692, 754, 822,856 of Carl Czerny are much more difficult than the 27 Etudes of Chopin and some of Liszt, other clear examples are the etudes of Marmontel, Cramer, Clementi, Mereaux, Alkan, Dolher, Rossenhain, Kullak, Bortkiewicz, Scriabin, Moszkowski, Heller, etc, they all have more difficult etudes and they are also beautiful.

Out of this world technically, huge facility and memorization of difficult passages with impressive mental relaxation at all times. Musically not at the same level, some of these etudes were not given full studying attention, while others are so mastered he seems to relax in difficult passages. Overall the weakness is musical, unequal levels of musical playing through the series, some are A++++ and others a mere B+ and i'd rate one or two a C. But the one he knows (all the most difficult ones except maybe OP 10 no 1) gosh, the technique is so fluid and above what i thought possible. I think the audience who applauded after op 25 n 11 was well justified. That etude ends with an exclamation point and getting no public response is weird. I applause the man who applauded. He was knacked and his stamina was near its end on the last etude. You could tell he had to wing it with help from mental whip. I don't think he could do what he'd wanted to on that last etude. An extremely gifted student overall. You can tell the huge amount of pedagogy that went into playing like this. It's not just the fingers, so many other things are going on.
