When to buy or sell options with examples . 1. You get more profit when you sell options instead of buy, this happens even if we expected one directional move .. 2. Sell options - when u expect less than 1% movement. When the market is near support or resistance. When your view is contradicting with market view or global view . If you want to participate in any event from beginning to till end. (RBI update, fed update etc ) 3. When to buy option - if want to enter and exit before any event, because premiums will be high. Once the event is over premiums will fall . - when you have strong opinion that it will move more than 1 % in your direction - Thursday's afternoon after 1:30 pm you should not sell for same day expiry, if you have strong opinions for buy . Option selling requires 1.4 lacs margin. sometimes mkt rise may not give profit in call buy. for a 20 point fall, put and call reaction is different. if strong momentum is not present,call buying does not give big profit.
