Well I've had this thing for a few weeks and have tried it in a handful of sessions, here are my initial thoughts after 6 sessions in a range of conditions.

Great review! I just picked up a 6m Strike as well. Biggest difference for me from my Swing 6m is the upwind angle. Before, I had trouble keeping up with our strong current in less than 15 knots, but 6m Strike allows me to stay upwind and even ride some waves.
@OCEANBOUND13 жыл бұрын
lost track of this comment! I totally agree. Although I remember thinking the Swing was decent at going upwind, especially when that bladder was super inflated, but the Strike is noticeably better! That being said, they do not make a 6m Swing anymore but I really want to ty the 5.5m!
@DaveSails73 жыл бұрын
@@OCEANBOUND1 yeah, I only inflated the Swing 6m to the recommended (6 psi I think). When I did get a gust, instead of powering up and being able to point higher, it would just flex and spill all the wind. I should have pumped it more like you say in your videos!
@OCEANBOUND13 жыл бұрын
@@DaveSails7 yes I pumped mine to prolly 9 or 10 and it was always great. I tried my friend's @6psi and it was unusable! Nothing more frustrating than seeing your wing bend from the middle when you need an little more power!

I ride a 6m and love it in stronger breeze as well.. very keen to try the 8m as from the boat I’m keen not to anchor in more than 15kts but would love to wing in places more appropriate and comfortable for the yacht!

Awesome review, thanks. I am also so curious to try the 7m and 8m strikes. We live in the UAE and the wind here is mostly quite light so I'm hoping to end up with a 5m and 7m strikes. I currently have 4.2m and 5m strikes and a 6m swing v1. My plan is to end up with 5m and 7m strikes as I believe that will be the best combo for me given the conditions in this region.
@OCEANBOUND12 жыл бұрын
Yeah I’m stoked to try them, although I’m not sure if anyone will get the 8m around here. I liked the v1 swing but only if pumped up to like 10psi. Sounds like a 5/7 combo will be right for you. There’s so much range, I’ve taken my 6m over 30mph so the 5 could go higher. Some people like the smallest wing possible, I prefer more power. Man I hope to visit the UAE someday!
@sergeymelnik80173 жыл бұрын
Awesome review, Jeremy, thanks for taking the time. Since posting, did you figure out whether 6m actually has better low end than 5m, for your weight and pumping ability? Or whether 7m has any advantage over 6m?
@OCEANBOUND13 жыл бұрын
Hey bud, so I’ve spend. Lot of time riding the 6 now, it can def get me up in lower conditions, and keep me up with less pumping. These days I’m grabbing the 6 instead of the 5 unless I know it’s like a steady 17 or more. I don’t mind the size and I love having more instant power.

Great review Jeremy! Looking forward for more gear reviews! I know it’s a matter of preference or habit, but I find handles on strikes kinda floppy compared to a-wings. Have you tried riding a-wings? What’s your take on the handles?
@OCEANBOUND13 жыл бұрын
I rode A wings maybe twice. I do like their handles - wider, stiffer, a little smaller of an opening, but from memory they were slightly bigger than the V1 Strikes. I think they are the same with the V2 wings and I'm interested in trying the V2s for sure.

Yo Jeremy, thanks for the detailed product reviews. I currently have a 6m Swing V1 and am wrestling with the idea of replacing it with a 6m Strike CWC…. My question to you is, is it THAT much better? I like the swing v1 when in appropriate condition, but find it a little “floppy” when trying to get up in light wind. Will the CWC sufficiently fix that? And is is worth the additional $800 after I sell mine for $400?
@OCEANBOUND12 жыл бұрын
Sup Christian! I’ve had the v1 6m Swing, rode it for a whole year or more. First, you need to pump it hard, forget the 6psi it says on the wing - I t’s floppy garbage at 6psi. So even if you already pump it hard, the 6m CWC strike is a noticeable difference. I just got a 5.5m Strike v2, that’s another option. It does have a little better upwind than the v1. I’m currently torn, do I sell my 6m CWC or keep it “just in case” I break my 5.5m. The 5.5 is lighter for sure and just more fun to fly. You could also get a 7m CWC. I bet it still has a shorter wingspan than the 6m v1 Swing but will just give you more light wind options. So whether you go with the 5.5v2, 6m or 7m CWC, it will be worth the upgrade and I highly recommended! Let me know what you end up doing! I have an 8m review if you are interested. For whatever it’s worth, my friend has a 7m and prefers it over his 6m. If you have a 7m you could then get a 4.5 or 5 and that’d be a good quiver.
@christian67752 жыл бұрын
Awesome, thanks for the feedback. I actually have had an 8m on order since January! Otherwise I probably would do a 5.5 and a 7.0! Keep the vids coming 🤙🏼

Hi, I have a 5 mt waspV1 and looking for a light wind wing , I am 73 kg . Do you think I have to go for the 6 or the 7 mt CWC ?
@OCEANBOUND13 жыл бұрын
hey sorry, this comment got buried! I'm 75-77kg so the 6m would be fine, but I have not idea what that 7m would be like. I can only fantasize for now. But I think since you weigh less than me, that 6m should be good! Then you can consider you next wing in the 4m territory. and 4m wings are such a nice size.

Great to hear you still loving the Strike CWC. I was about to get a 6.2 Ensis v3 for low wind but am rethinking 6m or 7m strike to combo with my 4.2 strike at my 85 kg. Was thinking 6m but know your lighter than me. Any thoughts?
@OCEANBOUND12 жыл бұрын
I have not been able to ride the 7m yet. I’m sooooo curious! The 6m def doesn’t feel as big and handles really nice is pretty much all conditions, from light wind to jumps to waves. I know the 7m will be a little clunkier. From what I’ve noticed, people seem to say the 5.2 Ensis is like a 6m Strike but I can’t back that myself, and you’d think a 6.2m would be even juicer. But they are a little heavier so… 🤷♂️

@@OCEANBOUND1 cheers mate. Did you mean Ensis 5.2 is similar to 6m CWC strike or just standard strike?
@stanleyshino2 жыл бұрын
@@Davidfoiler i hv use both, Ensis Score 6.2m(i own) does has more power than Strike 6m CWC(demp, tested 1 session); Strike 6m CWC has more power than 5.2m Score(fd's); FYI way more power than a 5m Unit(my own, feels like a 4.2 Strike which i own).. but Strike is more user friendly in handling, more throttle range(the more u pull the moer power u hv).. with Ensis Scrore it just pull and go like an ON/OFF switch.. both Ensis Score and Strike upwind crazy.. im 88kg dry.. im getting a Strike 7m CWC for low wind cruising..
@Davidfoiler2 жыл бұрын
@@stanleyshino I was considering the 7m CWC for my 85kg or the 6.2m for low wind cruising. Just wondering since you have the 6.2 Score do you think the 7m is going to give you that much more low wind or any key reasons you going for this since you have a 6.2m. I have a 4.2 strike which works good in winds even as low as 15 but works good in higher winds for me.

Hi Jeremy, is it worth having a 5M and also a 6M? I guess from a 6M you could go down to a 4.2M, thoughts after more use? 6M Slick or Strike?
@OCEANBOUND12 жыл бұрын
Hard question! The 6m is really nice, as is the 7m. The extra struts kinda make it stiffer and perform better. I do not have a 7m (still waiting for an 8m 😳👍) but my friend Paul prefers the 7 over his 6. A 5m is just a great size. Do you need it? No. A 6/4 combo is totally doable and a combo that can cover most situations. A 7/5/3 would prolly be ideal IMO. And about the slick… that’s hard cause so much is personal preference. I think the 6 slick would be better for lighter winds. But you gotta be into the boom. It’s not my thing. Especially in there parts in the winter.

Hello guys, For my 87kg, with an hypothetic 130L board and 1800 Gravity foil, what range would give me a Unitv2 5.5, strikeV2 5.5 ; strikeCWC 6 ; strikeCWC 7 or strikeCWC 8 ? Wind is under 11kts since 2 months (with very scarce gust under 23kts). Much thanks for help, Best regards
@OCEANBOUND12 жыл бұрын
Sup bud! It’s a really interesting question, not the easiest to answer. I’m about 77kg for reference. Honestly I don’t really go out when it’s 11kts or under, it’s possible but a total workout. I know my low end (11kts) and when I see 10 I just don’t really bother. Sorry to be a buzzkill about that. The 8m is good for bigger people, but because it’s big it’s a little different to fly in super light winds. You may actually prefer the 7m Strike cause it’s a little more maneuverable and the canopy is slightly tighter. I love the 8m I have but I really don’t think it helps me get up in much lighter wind than A 7 would. I don’t think the 5.5m or 6m Strikes are your answer, but if there’s more wind they are both great. I still have them both and use the 5.5 as much as possible but I do grab the 6 enough ti not get rid of it. I honestly haven’t tried the new Units with the 2 micro booms. BUT for light wind and power, you cannot beat the Slick. It’s super rigid and prolly your best light wind option. I LOVE the Strikes for everything I do, but the Slicks are noticeably different with their power delivery and I feel like I’d recommend them over a Strike for your situation… like a 6 or 6.5. Hope that helps bud… let me know what you end up doing!
