Tai Tzu Ying vs. Akane Yamaguchi has always been my dream matchup since 2016. Love both of their styles. Glad to finally see a great match from them ☺

Have watched this game twice already and, even though my fav player lost, I enjoyed the game all over again. It's a thrill to see such accomplished athletes leaving it all on the court, being fierce competitors and at the same time, being respectful of their opponents and the sport that has defined their lives. Very happy for Akane but Tai still has a lot to give. Looking forward to future matches between these two.

Akane Yamaguchi is on fire .Have never seem her with so much conviction.drive.energy.stretch moves .confidence .well played. She give her all in this match. fatigues sets in but she is mentally strong.its now or never to get a chance to beat the best of the best. I am sure she is overjoyed. over the moon now. who won't . after all how many can beat the queen of the ladies singles. Well done to both players .Enjoyable and excellent match to watch and thank you . Yamaguchi cover her court so well .it's unbelievable. it gets Tai Tzu Ying frustrated.it gets on her nerves thus you see the many errors by tty. tty almost win the 1st set . it was so close . despite the hectic crazy rallies all over the world. try still manage to maintain and emerged in the finals most of the time. kudos to her with such consistency. go tty go.

U people see that tty is tired but u don't see that hw good n bttr yamaguchi played .her movment her shots every thing is absolutely amazing. I according to me she was came here with completing her all homework n planning strategy against tty with coaches. specially the cross net droup and some trick shot kicked by tty and i appreciate yamaguchi for her fighting spirit.she deserve this winning...best of luck for future akane yamaguchi from india...

Ikr. 3 tournaments in the last 4 weeks, playing all 3 finals. 1 week of rest/trainings before Fuzhou open again. All the players are playing so hard every year end😐

Any athlete knows how fatigue it could be after intensive tournaments within such a short time. Only when you are also an athlete can you understand how hard the fatigue can affect one's performance big time.

Excellent come back AY, and Congratulations :-) Not narrowing Akane's winner shots ..., but I feel luck was another important factor as I can see several basic shots of TTY went to nets, unfortunate for TTY and good for AY. Akane's stamina has improved a lot, excellent net coverage, sharp shots ... very focused ... all hard work paid off ! One week rest for both, all top seeds need it badly. Hope to see excellent matches at FUZHOU CHINA OPEN !

@KOTheWorld Exactly. Every TTY's fan tried to use "tired" as the reason she lost. They both played a tough 3 games match the day before and AY's match was after TTY's. I like both these 2 players. But I think AY's game plan may have just caught TTY off-guard. I still think TTY will be the favorite next time they play, and the gap is getting closer.

One of the VERY FEW times we see anyone actually be able to "Challenge" and litteraly out match TTY to her knees in games. Kudos to Akane, was always lowkey cheering for this hard fighting world number 2. You win some you lose some TTY.

Well akane Yamaguchi done really good job here. Comparing to tai Tzu Ying, her semifinal match is more energy taxing and honestly i really though she will succumb to tiredness especially the way she played in this final. but damn what a match. by far this is the most entertaining match in the final (overall)

Yamaguchi provides some good ideas as to how to beat the world no 1. But in order to execute the plan, one has to have a monster stamina, as well as effective court coverage, 16.52 , 21.31 & 40.16 shows how Yamaguchi manages to get out of trouble & win points!

@@peacefulangel5124 Yup I agree. they also need to dictate the paced just like how Akane Yamaguchi done here. She has been playing at a very fast paced and it kind a trouble Tai Tzu Ying. The problem with Akane Yamaguchi tactic here is that they need a lot of stamina and physical fitness to outpaced Tai Tzu Ying. Chen XiaoXin and Gao Fangie may be able to defeat Tai Tzu Ying in the world tour but i think that happen because Tai Tzu Ying loss her focussed and rythm badly in that tournament. in French Open Tai Tzu Ying is almost at her top form and for Akane Yamaguchi to be able to return her every shot is not something that everyone can do. As far as i know, only Akane Yamaguchi and Ratchanok Intanon kind a found the recipe to defeat the top form Tai Tzu Ying.

山口贏的辛苦小戴輸了累慌慌只能講小戴唯一重要部位在腰身段這麼辛苦又累打完這一場還是以身體為重本原本這一場真希望他第一輪就放棄看丹麥跟塞那那一場已經知道體力也差不多了再拼法國就是硬拼接下來下禮拜後又連續兩場覺得挑香港那場洽當雖中國大師賽是750但一禮拜體力恢復更本不夠!

這次真的是輸了！戰術被山口屢屢破解，小戴越打要求質量越高，失誤就越高！另外，14連勝後又沒有多少時間休息，體力也嚴重流失了了！輸就輸了，休息休息再出發！今年賽程真的非常誇張，如果世羽聯明年沒有改進賽程，肯定一堆選手抗議缺賽！

Tty Exhausted the whole year run . But full credits to Yamaguchi played very well. Tty also underestimated Yamaguchi slightly and many unforced error into the net. She should come back stronger

Cayote Lives when the players are not playing any matches, doesn’t mean they can relax & do nothing. They have training programs & it could be tougher because you may have up to 3 sparing partners on the opposite side. They need to maintain their form by keeping on training.

送給所有打乒羽網的球手的三個再。打乒羽網最緊要, 最實用是打好這三個再: 1. 打球再靈活些, 令對方更難於應付 2. 再擊回去準些, 其中因力線点不够準而打失而失分,或落網或出界的, 失誤是第一号敵人。 3. 擊出的球, 再令對方難擊回些, 因擊出球的力線点(或不够高或不够弧)令對方球拍易達到並易回的球是自己的第二号敵人。當然, 自己還有其他的敵人: 譬如擊球後忘記了補好自己的企位而令對手乘機有空位打。除了體力,技術和戰術策略外, 還有的是自己的狀態, 傷患, 脾氣, 傲慢, 鬥志不够,或心理質素等不好都是敵人, 九乘或以上的擊球都應該是向空位而不是向人打去的,(令對方不能快回並能給自己時間有所準備)尤其是第二或第三個相持球, 最好是轉線而不再向人打去。要常留意自己或對手的位,速,時,力,線,点,旋。小戴上星期2018,10月的法國公開賽決賽第三局的最後一擊,網前挑球就是不够高和弧, 山口茜才能擊回便輸了。至於小周, 他打球很逍耍逍遙,但有時好像是不太在乎的樣子, 這雖可減壓, 但如果他在乎多些, 努力多些, 博殺多些, 像李宗偉, 那成績便會更好。你們說對嗎?

你讲的这些都是知易行难的大道理。对于职业选手、顶尖选手，这些道理他们早就明白了。之所以会有失误、丢分、输球，我也讲几个大道理。 1. 每个人有自己的天赋和实力上限，最大程度决定了他们能接到什么样的球，打出什么质量的球，能不能把自己的失误控制在合理范围内，体力到底可以支撑多久。理论上乒羽网球只要你把每个球都打进有效区你就可以赢，但这实在是个不切实际的梦。 2. 两人对打过程不停进行抑制和反抑制。其中一方的发挥完全和另一方的实力、临场状态有关。当任何一个人面对费德勒的快节奏和发球，纳达尔的暴力正手和强韧防守，戴资颖的魔幻假动作时，他的击球水准、心理状态、既定战术能否成功实施都不是他自己可以完全掌控的。 3. 运气在竞技体育中太重要。也许实力占九成，运气只占一成，但这一成变化就是天堂和地狱的差别。李宗伟完全有实力至少拿一个大赛冠军，他败在“既生瑜何生亮”的命运和难以捉摸的运气。
