Congrates to both players for a wonderful game.chen yu fei played with confident .her shots are spot on.tai tzu ying made too many mistakes. Its a shame we didnt get to see much of her deceptive shots. It would have brought her some points . Its still an acheivement to made it to runner up .this is tai tzu ying first lost to chen yu fei after 12 meetings , no wonder it got chen yu fei so emotional. Its still a great comeback tty. Its always good to see you in the finals

Congratss chen yu fei for winning all england 2019 after 11 lost she win for the first time especially all england 😭😭😭 what a glorious day. For tty i think she nervous because "2 times defending champion" and maybe shes little underestimating chen, its okay tty still win in h2h with chen

Tai Tzu Ying was not playing her usual game, she was smashing a lot. Maybe she was not as confident as before when facing Chen Yufei. She might have trouble getting gold in 2020 Olympic in Tokyo.

chen yufei was completely showing clean and calm style of play. She doesnt like exhausted, her footwork is just amazing, Tokyo Olympic will be harder to guest who is gonna win the gold medal

Chen Yufei has made tremendous progress in the last few months! Some commented that Tai had not used much of her famous trick shots, and her change of her usual winning strategy led to her downfall. But can’t you see the real problem for Tai was that Chen was anticipating her trick shots thus rendering them rather ineffective? How many times has TTY tried her hold-and-push to back court, or hold-and-drop to the net, which would have been outright winners v.s. other players, but did not work on Chen? And how many times did she lose a point directly while trying the trick shot? Chen was obviously better prepared today and came out with guns blazing, held on to win the first game, and came out ahead in the more evenly matched second game. Congratulations to Chen, who has beaten many top ranked players convincingly and well deserves this championship; and wish Tai would do better next time! World number ones are always studied closely by all of their opponents. Tai’s coaches need to realize this and prepare her for the onslaught of challengers.

raymondcyq I am also glad that given Chen’s young age, she has lots of time to improve her game. I also wish TTY could stay to play for longer (she said she would quit after the Tokyo Olympics), because it is really fun and enjoyable to watch her games. She does need to realize that she cannot rely on trick shots alone though. After her dominance for the last couple of years, other players and coaches of course have tried various ways to try to defeat her. Women’s singles is changing fast with lots of different styles nowadays. If others are evolving but you are not, well ...

TTY is the LCW equivalent in women singles. Winning lots of tournaments but mentally choking when it matters the most (like world championships and olympics)

That's a poor comparison. First, TTY won this exact championship back-to-back in 2017 and 2018. Second, this is All England, not the world championship or the Olympics. Third, her opponent (Chen Yufei) also has never won the world championship or the Olympics. Fourth, look at the head-to-head of TTY and Chen Yufei. If anything, Chen Yufei is the LCW equivalence in women's singles.

SL as he/she said, TTY hasn't win any world championships or Olympics, which is in exactly situation as LCW. All her titles are commercial open games for worldwide or Asian games only in area. It's a exact comparison.

中国是以奥运为周期培养人才的，等东京奥运会开赛，中国的那些新人包括陈雨菲何冰娇等正好达到巅峰水平，而台湾省只有一个戴资颖，而且随着年龄渐长，水平只能越来越差。

It is understandable CYF rush to the coach after winning the game and left TTY for awhile . It was her first victory against TTY so it is understandable for her to be a bit emotional and rushing to the coach . But Gill said made it looking bad , and left TTY alone on the court waiting her to shake hand . I hope she can be more rational and more balance not biased to any player during commentating .

TTY should realise that victories do not come by showing deceptive shots and show off beautufil shots. Her opponents are not as talented but they work for the points. Your opponents are getting better and better and they prepare their games against you. Wake up!!! You beat yourself with a tremendous amount of unforced errors. Already in the second game against Yamaguchi TTY lost complete control while dominating first game.

@@rai2700 True, but then she won the Asian Games two weeks later. It's true she has bad losses, but then again no other player in WS has been as consistent over the past two years. She can be a top player who competes for the biggest titles for a long time, if she wants it.

This umpire is so annoying and pushy. Chen plays very calmly. Tty made too much mistakes . Tty needs to play more seriously, sometimes she is very careless and not concentrating enough.

Tty didn't play her usual game. She start smashing a lot & not confident of playing rally w yufei. Which result in a lot of unforced error. Good game anyway. It's always easier to comment behind the keyboard. Tough to play the actual game. Esp AE final.

Tai Tzu Ying is not even sweating, fews tournament she joined lately were always defeated by others. Her mind is so strange now, like playing her opponents with her trick shots, but not really taking the game seriously.

What a time for Chen Yufei to end her 0-11 match losing streak to two-time defending champion Tai Tzu Ying by playing magnificently in the All-England final for a convincing straight-sets victory. At one stage in the first game, Chen was leading 15-6 and could afford to squander points before winning 21-17. The second game was a closer affair but Tai's numerous unforced errors as in the first game meant that she could not catch up and ended up losing 21-17. Tai is only 24 but is fast losing her winning touch as world no. 1 while Chen Yufei, 21, looks increasingly like a contender for world no. 1.

That's TTY's game. Most of her shots are high risked shots. CYF was able to return most of TTY's shots ended up TTY needed to play more shots and of course she had more mistakes.

TTY isn't mentally that strong that's why she doesn't have a world title where Marin has 3 and an olympic gold. It's a shame bcoz she needs to be a world champion and an olympic champion (it's only fair). bcoz she is so much better than everyone else.

Chen first cheering multiple times for easy errors from Tai. After matchball she is lying on the court for a long time, than goes to her coaches and after only that to shake hands with Tai. Hopefully she will not become a new Marin regarding court behavior. Anyway congrats for her win.

Chen Yufei is just cheering herself on (she turns around and faces her coaches when she does this). She has lost to TTY 10 times already and is so happy to finally win once. Whereas Marin screams directly at her opponents to intimidate them.

I’d say she deserves a break. She’s playing to win her first AE title against an opponent she’s never won against. And she’s only 21. She’s no doubt very excited and you can’t expect her to have the poise of a veteran.

Character is one of attribute of top players. Not only badminton but also all kinds of sports. Play some small tricks just lower yourself even you have skills to win the game. You won't win people's heart.

BTW, I think Chen's tricks was not to buy time, but to break opponent's flow. Tai was finally into her flow and won a couple of points so Chen intentionally delayed the game to break Tai's pace...
