Yes! I would have bet a beautiful dollar on him actually being from the Yards or McKinley or Bridgeport when I first saw him on the show. Who'd have guessed he's from Vancouver, B.C., Canada? Awesome acting. He has the South Side accent, the swagger and the look he give someone that would carve a coconut. Cheers!

I love when Ian asks that question because I just love the whole sequence of that and them helping Terry.....but while watching part of me was like "Dude, he got himself thrown in prison for you".......Mickey wanted to take care of Ian during the beginning of Bipolar and Ian didn't want that....what the fuck kind of question is that! Of course he would......There's alot about this season so far that's been a little off but the biggest thing to me so far is the natural ability without words for you to just know that Mickey would do anything for Ian and this scene was the first time after how long it took to get to 6 episodes that I felt that again..... They have been trying to play off of them being newlyweds fighting and arguing through the whole first half of the show that the true nature of their relationship got thrown to the side. I need more of this kind of stuff from them before the show ends....they don't even have to say anything and you can feel it all.....

It’s also important in that Ian doesn’t like being vulnerable like that generally. When he was younger he came at Mickey for going into caretaker mode after his bipolar diagnosis. I think Ian kinda already knew the answer because that’s how Mickey loves (it means we take care of each other) so it shows Ian has finally come to accept and appreciate that aspect of their relationship.

@@poundcake4158 Ian knows the answer is yes, he asks to make Mickey realise what huge capacity for care and love he has in his heart, and that underneath the hurt, Mickey cares for his dad. Ian knows that Mickey does not open up about feeling verbally very much, but his feelings are very, very strong. The whole episode is a bit like Ian verballizing Mickey’s fears and concerns. Like they have learned to communicate without words. Love them both.❤️ “They are both special, Mickey is just a little bit more special.”

Yup, I'm so happy for him! There was no love or respect in the Milkovich house (maybe only between Mickey and Mandy) and now he is practically one of the Gallaghers 😭❤️

Mickey has done a major 180 because in earlier seasons, He was a person you should fear, but in later seasons, we found out it was because he was under the control of Terry. Once he got out of that house, He changed completely.

@@madame__bizarre yeah that house did not have a Fiona, or any mothering figures. That’s how most families find or create kindness and warmth. A mother usually instills that in everyone’s hearts and that’s why Fiona did a great job not turning the Ghallager house into the scary Milkavich house.

I only started this show just shy of 2 months ago and now he’s easily one of my favorite actors he’s so insanely talented

I've been concerned about the writing recently, but this is the best written karma anyone could think of for Terry. He spent decades controlling and abusing the people around him, especially his own children, and now he doesn't have control over anything, not even his own body. He spent so much time making everyone miserable, but here he is left out on the freaking curb like trash and unable to do anything about it.

It was a legitimate question. Spouses/significant others leave their significant others often if they get sick/injured long term (or they stay and cheat on that person behind their back). It’s really sad. I love this scene between Ian and Mickey. A lot of shows don’t bring this up.

Mickey and Terry are just alike that’s why Terry can’t except that Mickey is gay! He wanted Mickey to be his successor to the “Milkovich throne” but like any other homophobe, he thinks gay makes Mickey less..

And „Shut the fuck up“- he said it to Terry when the latter came to „congratulate“ him on his engagement to Ian. It was the first time he stood up to his father and showed hom he is no longer afraid of him. Also, hate to say it - in the previous scene, when Mickey points a gum at Terry and does not shoot, guess who lifts a single eyebrow. Hate to see this endearing gesture on Terry.

Right?? Everyone is (understandably) talking about Mickey's growth as a character, but I'm also really impressed with Ian's. He not only showed that he is now able to accept caretaking from Mickey at the beginning of the scene, but he waited for Mickey's permission to step in and help since it was clear Mickey needed to be in control here. Ian is really growing up, y'all!

In no universe would that shit be okay. Mickey already showed that he is a better person than Terry could ever even dream of, but making him have to care for a man that abused him his entire life and orchestrated his rape would be sadistic. No one deserves that.

Yes. Every child wants to be loved by their parents, Terry wasn't capable to love his children the way they deserve. I wish we could have some insight into Terry and his wife's past (especially because not much is known about Mickey's mom other than the fact that she's dead). It's sad how deep down we can have feelings for people who caused us so much hurt...
