It’s cool that Nintendo revisited F-ZERO with F-ZERO 99, but I really wish they’d give it a brand new full-fledged game. This series deserves to be revived! I don’t know why they shelved it since the last game on the GameCube? It’s a shame though!

@Kat-Bat the only reason why is that miyamoto claims is that when a controller they see fits f zero they would make one. However back in 2011 miyamoto went to people who made burnout to make them a new f zero on wii u. But they were too busy at the time.

Ahh memories. My parents got me F-Zero back in early 1993 after getting me a SNES for Christmas 1992. I remember falling head over heals in love with this soundtrack. Still sounds great nearly 30 years on.

Mind blown back in 1991, when my brothers and I experienced the F-Zero soundtrack on our brand new SNES with its independent, eight channel PCM capable Sony chip. Especially comparing it to the older NES with its "dependant" five-channel mono sound that was controlled by the 65C02 CPU, so the soundtrack would often slow down when there were too many sprites onscreen then speed up again.

Little story: I first experienced f-zero on my snes mini (that I still have) I really liked this game but the games I played the most were Mario kart, Mario world, yoshis island, dkc, and Kirby but damn I only came back to the track cause the direct that got f-zero 99 in it never noticed how good the soundtrack is till now

I am 44 now. When I was 14 back in 1992 I got a SNES and F-Zero as a Christmas present. I used to spend hours playing the Big Blue circuit just to hear this awesome soundtrack. Still sounds great today!

For me this is the song that sets the tone for the entire SNES library. A song full of adrenaline and epicness. To think that this early in the console's lifespan they made sure to let you know that the Super Nintendo wasn't any joke.

I've been searching "best snes theme" on KZfaq, for me it's this one. It was also incredible at this time because it was one of the first games sold with the snes and a great demo of this "new" 16bit technology. For me it represents perfectly the transition between 8 and 16 bits chiptune music.
